But it seems like you agree with me because I agree with what you said about Gaga. It's ridiculous to censor art/entertainment! But if we start with 13RW, why not ARTPOP, which despite Gaga's talks on drugs, promotes drug use in MJH and JND? Why not AHS, which is one of the most violent shows on TV? We cannot censor art. It's immoral and wrong. And it's terrifying.

1) fate, karma whatever you literally said those kids where predestined to commit suicide, this basically brushes off any struggle they had with mental ilness 

2) people will do it, and it's not something new (search: "werther effect"). This show triggered dangerous things, it may not have been the sole reason but it certainly incited things it shoulnt have. (btw those 2 girls werent the only ones who commited suicide bc of this show)

This whole debate on censorship is  far too long lol but it shouldnt be censored but at least edited, was that bathtub scene of hannah really necessary? This was supposed to be a show to enlighten people on mental illness but it did the opposite LOTS of terapists andpsychiatrists agree that the things depicted were harmful, to give an example: 13RW did almost everything the world health organization advises not to do when dealing with suicide in movies/series. And this is crucial, bc 13RW is a series whose premise was to start conversations on suicide and bullying and how to deal with those things, its not a horror show with absurd themes and mythical characters or a pop star singing abt weed, it is not a symetric comparison (even though i agree ahs is far too violent sometimes lmao but yeah)

It's a natural reaction to an extremely unnatural event...your children dying before you do. Your mind isn't prepared in any way to ever handle that as a reality...even when it is one. It is common and natural to blame everyone and everything, including themselves, each other, God and even the victim, when dealing with such extreme grief.

These parents aren't thinking clearly and they won't again for a very long time.

I'm not going to argue about censorship again, because clearly we have different opinions and our opinions aren't going to change, but you will not accuse me of saying those children "deserved" to die. That's karma. Fate has nothing to do with "deserved" and you can argue with a dictionary all you want but you will not put words into my mouth because you have a poor understanding of the English language. That's completely inappropriate.

But you can literally watch the series from your phone. If they went to a public library or watched it at a friends place, how is that the parents fault? I think it's easy to blame the parents tbh.

Ive dealt with loads of depression and anxiety and have had thoughts of ending my life (not any super serious thoughts btw) but if I were to end my life, my mom would NEVER be to blame for that. And I would be pissed if people blamed my moms parenting because she is not the reason for my depression.

I think it's easy from the outside to blame the parents but we don't even know them at all.

As far as we know, it isn't the parents fault either.

Other shows aka AHS have showed suicide scenes countless times and there hasn't been a fuss made about it

I don't understand what level of intelligence makes someone think those teens were leading a perfectly normal life but they suddenly saw someone kill themselves on TV and decided to do the same. 

It's not like I didn't know this would happen ever since I found out they were adapting the book. People love to talk and seem woke while they're really just being obnoxious.

It's scientifically proven that the explicit description of suicidal methods can people influence in their behavior (in psychology we call that "Copycat suicide" or "Werther effect", the latter describing how Goethe's novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther" led people to commit suicide in the past).

Of course those people do not commit suicide out of nowhere, but if you are already in an unstable mental state, an explicit description in media can influence you even more. Especially if you glorify or identify yourself with it too much.

Directors and producers should be more careful when it comes to topics like this. On the other hand, more psychological prevention is needed to help those who have psychological problems since people can get triggered by too many factors in their environment. The key is therefore to strengthen their inner psychological well being, making them more resistant to such influences.
