Rupaul's Drag Race Sasha Velour, self proclaimed "brainy queen", comes for miss Perry gig, while explaining what would she do for Stronger by Britney.  

What would your Britney Spears number have been?

I had scissors strapped to my thighs when I stepped out onto the stage and I was going to cut the wig until I was bald. [Laughs]

Is that something you’ve done before, or was it a new concept?

I’ve never done it before, ever. I thought that’d be appropriate for Britney and for the song.

Sasha Velour: Well, I knew that the lip-sync had to be really, really show-stopping, since we were really battling each other for the crown. I like to have some element of storytelling beyond my face or my costume or my movement. The rose petals came to mind because the idea of like, “He loves me, he loves me not,” because of that song. I prepared completely different reveals and performances for each of the different numbers.

True enough. We'll see how stan twitter takes it. A lot of RPDR fans are very hostile at the moment (the whole Valentina drama and whatnot) so I could see them taking this negatively.

I know it would have been done as a good hearted parody but I can see this backfiring if she would have. People are more aware and compassionate toward mental health so I think ppl would have found it distasteful.

Yeah the new format of the show has definitely brought about a lot of different things that I would've never imagined for the show. I wonder if they'll go back to the original rules, etc.

Sasha was not my pick for the winner but I think people who are complaining about the new format should take several seats. This really was necessary. The show was becoming a rut. I mean, on episode two we already knew Bob was winning last season. Shea had 4 wins so everyone already thought she was gonna be crowned. So what was the point of having a finale? Also, queens didn't put an effort to the lip syncs because of this preconceived notion that queens who land on the bottom don't win the show.  The lip syncs this season were all terrible, except for Trinity and Peppermint (who weren't even that iconic). 

Ru is doing great by changing everything up and lighting a fire under everyone's butts.
