NIghtmareElm 2,606
I kinda agree with him. Just don't like how he shilled for Killary after he lost the primaries. A huge reason why Trump is president is because he ran against the worst democratic candidate in years. If Trump ran against Bernie, we might have a different president. Both parties are equally corrupt and only out for themselves but the republican party is probably worse. Free college is not entirely possible though. I would love it but a lot of expenses would have to be cut. Much cheaper college is possibly though. There is no reason why so many students should be in at least 20k in debt just because they wanted an education. Living wage? That kind of worries me. If we raise minimum wage too much, then inflation will just go up. The cost of living needs to go down a little bit though. We do not need a socialist country. U gonna take trump over her if she is the candidate in 2020? why are democrats only expected to be the torch bearers of honesty or whatever.. as long as she runs with issues that matter it should be fine. She is a new promising face unless someone else rises.

Sure, I might want her in the presidency instead of Trump, but I'm not going to excuse her for abominable actions. And really? Should we not demand that our politicians are honest? Accountability is paramount.

If Trump ran against Bernie, we would still have Trump...only he would have a mandate with winning the popular vote. Your last two paragraphs and especially your last sentence show what would have been just some of the issues had Bernie been the nominee. Our one hope MIGHT have been Biden, but even then we would have ended up with a Republican House and Senate.

Liberals shoot themselves in the foot with these unrealistic expectations and standards...while the Republicans will rally behind any bumbling fool with an R beside their name. That's why they are in charge and are currently taking away your rights, healthcare and screwing up the environment.

What matters is who does the best job in the end for the benefit of the public.

Pointing out conflict of interests and hypocrisy in our representatives is not a purity test. I struggle to dismiss things like not prosecuting a bank that violated laws thousands of times and destroyed lives. All for, presumably campaign money. After all, Mnuchin gave money to her. Am I not allowed to point out problems with Senator Harris? Can I even criticize Obama? Yes, nothing is perfect. But this is not how things should be. Obama had his issues and problems. These purity tests of who is "worthy" to run or vote for, is why we have Trump. It's why 20,000 poor people will die in the next ten years due to lack of insurance. The Republicans know how to win the game...and it is at the expense of the most vulnerable in society.

Liberals aren't sheep. Which is both a good and a bad thing. Good because it means we expect more from those who represent us and bad because it creates a divide that can cost us elections.
