So I'm just gonna sit here.

And wait.

For someone to come in here and say "He's right".

So I have an excuse to post in the "Mock a GGD User" thread.

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

I think the Democratix party needs to get it's sh!t together to win back everything they've lost in the past decade. Hopefully we'll get a strong canidate in 2020, although I'd love to see a Clintin vs Trump again, the outcome second time around can still go to Trump, but Clinton has proved herself as the bigger person and that's what people need to see.

People need to cut the **** with "alt-left"

And, yes, the Democratic Party needs to get their **** together or keep losing. The fact that this even needs to be said when Republicans own both houses and the White House is ABSURD.

Bernie Sanders is not the only person who is of this opinion and the only people who are up in arms about this are protectionist Democrats who care more about the party than addressing the needs of voters. Their only agenda is being anti-Trump. Adopt progressive/populist policies and you satisfy the majority of Americans. Continue shallow anti-Republican and anti-Trump rhetoric and you do nothing to win anyone over.

REALITY

You know, I support what Sanders has done and what he stands for, but at the same time, I'm tired of hearing this "Both parties are terrible, they're both evil, they're both blah, blah, blah"  because realistically those are the two major parties we have! They both are imperfect in their own ways, but at the same time, what other option is there? Yeah let's just go for the Green Party or the Libertarian Party—not shading or discouraging people from supporting them, it's just that realistically, these are the two parties that we have and most of America is not going to just switch to a third party.

There could be improvements to both parties, absolutely, but the way Bernie is saying it almost is like we might as well get rid of both parties.

This isn't something new. He's been saying this. Part of the reason Sanders/Clinton primary was so ugly. Ultra liberals despise what the Democratic party does a lot of the time.

The Democratic and Republican/Trump brand ARE bad.

This is why the nation is so divided and both sides can't stand each other.

I told a friend the other day I voted Democrat in the primaries and for Clinton and she looked at me like I'd confessed a crime.

Democrats aren't winning. There's something wrong with how they're coming across. Democrats can't keep pretending they're perfect.

Democrats are the ONLY chance of steering us away from Trump and co. but if we didn't have this 2 party system I'm sure what happened in France would've happened here and no major party would've won.

"Alt-left" again :air:

This THIS THIS :applause:

For the republicans, it worked to just be "anti-Obama!" and "Anti-Hillary" because their base is well... I don't want to sound like a biased bitch, but they watch Fox News so :rip:

People actually interested in real change in their communities need to be sold on actual improvement, being Anti-Trump is not enough (even though IMO, it certainly is a LOT :laughga: Even Republicans should be Anti-Trump, hes a highly ineffective president so far)

Also stop with this fake headline. You put it in quotes which means Bernie said it. HE DID NOT. He was asked if what someone else said about "Our (Dems) brand being worse than Trump" was right and Bernie responded "He may be" and then continued to talk about the issue and say "The Democratic brand is bad"

He did not say Dems are worse than Trump.

Also this is a PERCEPTION. And whether you like it or not millions of people hate both parties.

Well the Republicans used that exact strategy with President Obama and now they control both chambers of Congress and the White House, as you know. And I know you didn't just tune into politics a year ago for the first time, but your post sort of makes it sound like you did - especially when you say we'll "keep losing," when as a matter of fact we've continued to tighten margins in solidly Republican congressional districts since the day Trump was elected.

But as a so-called "protectionist Democrat who cares more about the party than addressing the needs of voters," I'd be curious to hear where you think my party isn't progressive enough. The platform coming out of 2016 was actually quite progressive. Bonus points if you actually site the platform, and not just what you've learned in your twitter bubble.

People aren't here for the same old Democratic brand.

Clinton may have won the popular vote but strategically she FAILED MISERABLY in states where Obama had won.

Dems need to win back these parts of the country with fresh new faces and policies.

These old corporate elitists aren't gonna make us win. If Dems lose in 2018 it will be completely their fault and I hope they all resign.

If Dems can't beat Trump in 2018 and 2020 all hope is lost in this country.

He's not wrong, the state of the Democratic Party is deplorable. Are they as bad/worse than the GOP? Obviously not, but that doesn't give them carte blanche to ostensibly be GOP Lite™ and corporatist af "centrist" instead of actually representing their people.

It's not enough to just bash Trump and these sort of draconian policies when it's convenient/trendy.

Just because you're the lesser of two evils, it doesn't mean you're good or above criticism.
