If you book before finding employment you won't be in that uncomfortable position of asking for time off right after starting. Just as you get accepted you'll let them know that you had already booked a vacation before they employed you. Most employers shouldn't have a problem with that.

You're welcome  I had done it at my first job. I waited till the second interview (or that moment you know you're going to be accepted) and told them I didn't know I was going to get employed so I had booked a non-refundable vacation.

I hope I'll be able to go too. I had booked my flights, hotel stay, and concert for Manchester back in February
