when have the grammys snubbed gaga before? She have been nominated every year she have had music out except ARTPOP era and won 6 grammys before and peformed there the 3 last years. She is liked by the grammys. Why do you think they won't atleast nominate her when she has the most sold album/single of the year for a female and both got good reviews from the gp and most critics. She also had the most watched superbowl watched ever this year where MR was peformed, im sure those things help.

They didn't nominate ARTPOP and BTW didn't win a single award.

I'm rooting for her, OF COURSE. I just wanna keep it real.

I think she will get a nom for the documentary, as well. I hope she performs a medley of MR and Joanne at the Grammys. Adele did Hello one year later (previously she did All I Ask), so why not? The song would pass 2M SPS and it would push the album's overall sales.

My predictions: MR for SOTY, Best pop vocal performance, Joanne for album of the year ( I know this is wishful thinking, but I think she might be the only woman nominated in this category this year, Melodrama will be snubbed because it's a commercial failure compared to PH) and Best pop vocal album. The docu can get a best musical film nom.

Am I the only one thinking Chained To The Rythm has good chances to be nominated at the GRAMMYs? The song has a great message in it.

That ain't happening and I actually like the song

ARTPOP era was a mess so it's understandable they didn't nomminate it for anything and BTW era was nomminated for 3 but yeah no one but adele won that night :deadbanana:

They also made self sabotage in the song catogorys by promoting Judas to the cermony and not TEOG or BTW :saladga:

This thread is practically always off topic, why stop now lol.

The Oscars have far more credibility and are a much bigger deal than the Grammys. The reason: Winning an Oscar is FAR more difficult and rarer. Whereas, people will win 6 Grammys in one night.

Having said that, the Grammys are NOT racist towards black artists. Black artists have won plenty of Grammys and even in the big categories. They do, however, have a bias against rap music (including white rappers like Eminem) because musicians prefer music with instruments and melodies. That's why the Beyonce loss wasn't so shocking to me. Sure the visual component was great and it spoke about the current BLM, but the structure and melodies of each of those songs and the musicianship were no where near the level of 25. It was probably the weakest of the 5 nominees. Dance music probably has a similar issue and it is why dance/techno has never won album of the year aside from Daft Punk which is more funk anyway.

The Oscars do have a  racial bias and it shows.

At least many wins have been coming for Black Artists though. Especially in the Beat Picture category.

ARTPOP wasn't nominated for obvious reasons and BTW didn't win because it was up against be biggest album of the century... (and the self sabotage)
