Lorde exists in a sweet spot where she can get played on the radio, but is also seen as a ~real artist~, thus, her commercial under-performances get overlooked compared to her peers. Not fair per se, but that's how it is.

Remember Katy had 5 #1 singles during TD and now she has the largest drop of second week sales 

Lorde is impressive because she never "slayed" but she's doing well.

honey her REAL album sales are like 40K something. More than 130K copies were from the tour bundle  And Lorde is an indie artist. Katy is a top pop girl, well she was at least
