Even in the conservative province of Saskatchewan, I was taught (both at home and at school) that Canada has no dominant race and is meant to take care of everyone. Truly, a nation without borders. I love it. The extreme diversity is what i love the most about this Country. Literally almost every race and culture u can think of we have and we have communities of it!!!! And here in Toronto area in summer almost every weekend theres an event for a different culture which i love to attent and try all the free samples of their foods I also love that just around the next block theres stuff like restaurants from unique cultures. I have Canadian friends and some family there and they all tell the same story of feeling welcome and always being taught from a young age that this land truly belongs to the Natives of that region and that everyone who is not native descent is an immigrant. Tis country is the 2nd biggest in the world, has so many resources etc..and only has 33 million ppl in it? such a waste! I'm glad more ppl will go there. It's also so amazing how integrated everyone is. I feel like neighborhoods are not so segregated there like they are in other countries. It's a true cultural melting pot. I truly admire Canada and Canadians in general. 36 million ppl i think is estimate for right now. 33 million was census from years ago Anyway i myself lived in Portugal before and come from a family of immigrants and i loved moving here... Most ppl id say are race blind. The mix is so vast that u dont really even notice the race thing. Its just never a factor in dealing with ppl (in general of course... even we have a few racists, thats innevitavle) In Portugal there was less variety as 90% are just caucasian portuguese with same culture. Not all of Canada has such a high rate of inter-racial tho i was talking about Toronto specifically In my city which is a suburb outside Toronto... Indians, Pakistans, Jamaicans and Trinadadians make up most of our pop and not much else so theres less mixing In rural areas, white is stil the dominant race But even where theres less mix racism is minimal. Also i love how ppl here keep to themselves more when they disagree with other cultures. Muslims or other religions vs non-religious Canadians etc... there is very little conflict despite different ideals of living and morals ppl respect other opinions and keep disagreement to themselves.
