Actually, I did an 8 page report on Illegal Immigrants and the economy and they are actually far from a drain on the economy. They pay over $10 Billion in taxes every year and are paid very small wages. They do labour that no one would do. A study came out and a farm raised wages so high but no legal citizen would take the job or if they did would quit after a day. Illegal immigrants do jobs no one else would do. They actually make up about 3% of the overall economy and make up 10% in sectors like construction. They also pay into government benefits that they may never get. 

And lets not forget one thing, they are people too. The journey to get to America is so dangerous, long, and people die or get raped. It is truly a horrific journey and my heart breaks for them. I am not in favor of open borders, I think we need a strong border, but I appreciate the 13 million undocumented immigrants living in America who contribute to society and have seen/experienced things you could not even imagine. It just breaks my heart. All to get to America and get paid so little.

EDUCATE YOURSELF before making ignorant comments, PLEASE. We can't afford any more uneducated policies and people being rampant, especially with Trump in charge. PLEASE. Education is so important...  

 Employers don't pay employee taxes, car accidents, hospital bills and emergency room visits are never paid, government programs are easy to access if undocumented, children are the beneficiaries of hundreds of millions of dollars in financial support, tax returns are nonexistent, and a whole slew of other issues. I've never understood the argument that illegal immigration is a good thing. Someone can have sympathy for the immigrants without sacrificing what it takes to have a productive economy.

With all the respect, regardless of it being a mother with her child, you can't just keep people cross 'the border' and live their life in the US. From what I have read here is that you guys keep telling that there's a chance for everyone. I do think so too, but could you also think about the danger of just letting people in the US? If you would just open the borders, you would have a bigger mess. Increase of thugs, drugdealers (let's be real they mostly come from South America, I think Mexico is part of South America aswell?) that could just get in the country would be huge. It would actually destroy the US. 

And I don't want to be ignorant or whatsoever, it's just reality. Not every person crossing the border is an angel.

We have border patrol. Criminals still get in. No one is calling for open borders, that is a right wing propaganda phrase. We are calling for a solution for the current undocumented families in the nation. 

And Mexico is part of North America btw.

you're right, we can unify but seeing the world as "no borders" would more or less create chaos. we need some social division for our countries, whether you live in the U.S. or elsewhere, in order for our economies to thrive.

For those who defend "the law", consider this:

If you were in her shoes, living in another country without the basic safety and opportunities that most Americans take for granted, then you'd be compelled to move to the US for a better life in spite of the risks.
