Isn't this supposed to be done privately? Like they knock on your door and tell you? This just creates a big scene and now everyone is judging everyone involved 

The way the little boy was crying and holding onto his mom too, so heartbreaking 

Isn't there a law that lets parents who are not citizens with children who are citizens stay until their children are 18?

She wanted a better life in America but there's a way to do it apart from being a huge drain on the economy. Segregation is completely different.

Yea, I agree that too many lives are being ruined. Unfortunately, neither Republicans nor Democrats are actually going to do anything to resolve the issue effectively. I hope they prove me wrong, though!

 

On a total side note, I must say I really admire your thoughtfulness and humor (in other threads since this one is serious) when both commenting and developing threads. Also, thank you for making threads like this one, so everyone can discuss topics pertinent to everyday life.

If you were to have ACTUALLY educated youself, you would know that a big chunk of "illegal immigrants" DO IN FACT pay taxes yet still cannot benefit from government programs.

Well first, for all we know, she could have been in the beginning stages of applying for citizenship and stuff.

It's not that easy. It takes time, money, and energy. It's not just a snap of your fingers. Do you think that mother wanted to come into the country illegally?? Again, it's just not that easy, it's a long process and it's strenuous.

These people work their asses off to try to work for their feed their families and try to just make their lives better.

We need to learn to have some humanity and compassion and love for them. Illegal immigrants also do pay taxes. You're acting like they're living in mansions mooching off of people.

I also used the segregation analogy to show that 1) we need to show empathy and compassion and 2) just because something is "the law" doesn't mean that it's right or flawless.

I would have loved to see your mom get taken away from you when you were younger and see how you would react, people come here to give there children a better life and doing it legally takes years for no reason. alot of my family come from Mexico illegaly. do you know how it feels to not feel safe grocery shopping in the middle of the day, hear gunshots EVERY DAY, and ave to constantly fear death everyday? 

my uncles and aunts lived in Nuevo Laredo and it was awful, and would you feel safe knowing your own president is taking bribes from gangs and is doing absolutely nothing to keep your country safe? 

Imagine America like that, would you leave for the sake of your family? I find it sick when people assume people cross the border from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador "just because they want to steal our jobs", upcourse they need a job but its to protect their family. 

so, yes you should feel sorry for some immigrants. you have no idea why theyre here and their story. Wether someone is an American Dream catholic middle class or a struggling hard working immigrant, Be kind to everyone.

Getting citizenship isn't easy, it took my grandparents more than a year to gain citizenship, it's a difficult process that isnt just 'I want to be a citizen!'.
