It's highly likely that she will get nominated for Pop Vocal album and Pop solo performance. I decided to lurk on some forums filled with straight males discussing the Grammys and most of them said it's unlikely Gaga will get nominated for AOTY and that next year will be a repeat of the 2013 Grammys where all 5 nominees were guys. And even if they decide to nominate a female just to block the sausagefest, that it's going o be Lorde. So what do ya'll think? Will Gaga be nominated? I'd be pretty bummed if she doesn't get one tbh With the exposure she got with the Halftime performance I think a AOTY nomination is not too much of a reach. dit 46,417 Posted June 15, 2017 Share Posted June 15, 2017 Joanne unfortunately isn't really critically acclaimed and its success is great but not outstanding enough for the grammys to take notice based on its sales alone. Joanne's Metacritic score (67%) is even higher than Ed's Divide (quite well-received by the GP & critics) Good sis MR is also likely to have multiple Grammy nominations. Though Gaga has been popular this year, the album hasn't been - either on the recesses of the web or in the mainstream. Like, its not unpopular but critically acclaimed, and its not popular and critically acclaimed. It would be categorized as having mixed reviews based on its meta score (not that that score means anything) MR on the other hands is more recognizable to the public and has good reviews. It's possible, but I highly doubt it I also just honestly don't think it would deserve the award if nominated Especially against certain competition. Gaga as an artist might deserve it, but Joanne is not that amazing of an album comparatively to other albums released in the time frame. It's unlikely to happen, but we could be surprised which is why I voted Maybe Where we should really be hoping for Grammy nods is MR for SOTY. That's what we should be focused on.
