Though I suppose some people aren't into that kind of friendship and it gets them creeped out. But personally I'd rather be honest and funny with my friends than fake We can be kidding but at least we should answer the topic in a respectful manner because exchanging ideas and gaining information (as in not information that you can get by looking it up on Google in 5 seconds) and it's obvious why people post in that manner and it is just to garner likes and to develop some iconic stature which is kind of pathetic in my opinion. ooo 407 Posted June 12, 2017 Share Posted June 12, 2017 OP, you are not the only one who has noticed this & feels this way. i almost made a thread last night but then didn't bc the thought of people trying to be "funny" when really being insensitive AND now knowing there are people on this site that get off to spewing racist, homophobic bullshit that actually does effect people stopped me from posting. i feel like the negative people are winning and have been for a long, slow time. i witnessed some **** recently on this site and was appalled that that person wasn't banned and the thread wasn't locked. i definitely signed up and participate because i thought this was a gaga fansite for lady gaga and i thought it was full of people that were fans & also wanted to discuss a wide range of topics. in short...i thought it was a safe space for queer people who enjoy music and pop culture. now its like...worse than a joke of itself. i don't think the mindset of "if you don't like it then leave." is really..productive. i watched an extremely popular forum site implode on itself bc of that mentality. tbh idk...idk why anymore i thought gagadaily was going to be a safe space for queer people to talk about music and pop culture. i don't want to leave, but i also don't see why we have to put up with the toxicity. why do toxic people always get to win. ETA: NO ONE, including OP, said that humor doesn't have a place here on this site. but if you are really going to be so blind to not know that some things are not funny, taken too far, and are downright hateful and insulting..then why even come here where people are actually trying to get a break from assholes.
