Mythos 3,199
What? Why? Doesn't make any sense to me... Please just leave it as it is. red: light; orange: healing; yellow: sun; green: calmness; blue: art; lilac: the spirit; Why would you add race to the flag? River 127,400
I'm sorry but the colors and the meaning have a certain subject and "people of color" is not matching to it. Red = Life Orange = Healing Yellow = Sunlight Green = Nature Blue = Serenity Violet = Spirit So, suddenly, Black and Brown for "people of color"? isn't it dividing instead of uniting? why certain people needs to have a special explicit representing on the flag? So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

John Slayne 4,154
not saying it's a bad thing BUT () rainbow flag doesn't represent anyone's skin colour so it would kinda go against the basic idea of it but I agree PoC people are often marginalised and discriminated within LGBTQIA+ community, which is sad

Gay culture has been completely appropriated from gay men of colour and black women and now for some reason whenever anyone thinks of an LGBT person its a white gay men. And im tired of it and so are millions of other coloured gay men and women.

ItWasntLaauv 6,392
No Then it wouldn't be a rainbow It would be a rainbow and a random brown and black What I'm trying to get across is that it's unnecessary, extra, and is messing with something that shouldn't be messed with /thread Edit: Sorry if this came off harsh but seriously! The rainbow flag has been a symbol of pride for LGBTQ people for decades, it would be so problematic and divisive to change it.

I don't think LGBT people should ignore the issues or other marginalized groups, like black and hispanic people. I completely agree with this sentiment - and of course, changing our iconography is not going to fix the very important problem of inclusivity that the LGBT movement (and the community) has. Furrrealzjuan 137
Each color has it's own meaning Red life/sexuality Orange healing/friendship Yellow vitality/energy Green serenity/nature Blue harmony/artistry (some say magic) Purple spirit/gratitude which covers everyone in the LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 community.... plus black already has a meaning on the rainbow flag
