Morphine Prince 109,653
While the six-stripe rainbow flag has become a symbol of inclusivity throughout the LGBTQ community, people of color within the umbrella have historically been marginalized, and, at times, intentionally ignored during the fight for equality. A new campaign, launched by Philadelphia, is pushing to add two new stripes to Gilbert Baker's design: Black and brown, as a way to celebrate non-white LGBTQ members. "In 1978, artist Gilbert Baker designed the original rainbow flag," the More Color More Pridesite says. "An iconic symbol of LGBTQ+ unity. So much has happened since then. A lot of good, but there's more we can do. Especially when it comes to recognizing people of color in the LGBTQ+ community. To fuel this important conversation, we've expanded the colors of the flag to include black and brown," the campaign site reads. "It may seem like a small step. But together we can make big strides toward a truly inclusive community."

OT: Personally, I think it adds a certain balance to it, but I do think it looks better just as a Rainbow (though the whole point of the rainbow isn't to look pretty, #doyourresearch ) However, the LGBTQ+ community already has a hell of a lot of flags and symbols tbh, for different gender identities, and specific orientations as well Not saying this should be just another one relegated to Tumblr + history that no one knows, but it can certainly exist somewhere, whether its the flag at the forefront or whatever 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

HOTNebraskaGuy 19,547
Idk... doesn't really make sense since there are plenty of "POC" who still don't support LGBTQ+ One, five, ten lay a million on me
shmal96 2,928
But the rainbow flag was never 'only for white people'? rainbow= inclusiveness for all, no matter what color you are
DelusionalGaga 29,717
I'm all for being inclusive, but are there really people out there who are offended because they don't feel represented by the rainbow flag?

darkchylde 14,857
i think the real problem here is how the LGBT flag is mostly only associated with cis white gay men and therefore the rest of us feel unrepresented, specially LGBT people of color
