I once wrote a comment and said something like "we should ask brown skinned people" and got basically attacked by every white person on this site about being racist. The funny thing is that I am a Latino and brown and was being sarcastic. They even compared my use of "brown skin" to "red skin." Lol Completely ridiculous since we "brown skin" people sometimes use the phrase. Then here I make an equally sarcastic comment about "why not add a white stripe too." Referring to how ridiculous it would be to add a white stripe to the pride flag and all the sudden I am "perpetuating the false reverse racism narrative." Lol Then I get very condescending replies by white people trying to teach me about race issues. One thing is to Google the meaning of of the reverse racism narrative and assume you know everything and another is to be followed in a store by security because you are brown skinned, which has happened to me at the Shops at Bal Harbor. So to all the overly self righteous white people attempting to educate about racism, state your opinions, but please control your condescending tones. But yet again, those people act as if American problems are the world's problems and they're not! Leave our GLOBAL symbol for LGBTs alone! I once dated a guy who literally told me that he normally does not like Mediterranean guys, but I should be lucky that he still chose me. I really would like to know what other German members have to say about this issue. @Simon @barnabesk @Ibo @ToughHooker i only found once or twice people who were kinda discriminative against other cultures on gay dating sites/apps, along the lines of "no rice" and so on. apart from that i already stated my opinion about this topic in this thread and see no reason to include skin color issues in a flag that is about sexual freedom for all people. personally i never thought " whoa... this flag doesn't represent my skin color(which it doesn't) so it needs to change according to my desires" nevertheless i am still all for equal treatment no matter what your ethnicy or skin color is, cause black people (even tho evidence is anecdotal) still get treated worse often times ( typical example airport) . but changing the lgbt flag is not the right way. このジョルノジョヴァンナ夢がある Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
