Kermit 15,807
So did I, in a third party group chat earlier. Obviously he didn't even mean it in that manner. Sensitivity leads to the inability of rancor never being broken. “For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity.” ― Jean Dubuffet

Just black people can say the N word? The U.S. is both the most overly sensitive and totally insensitive place in the world, sis. Whispering 18,865
It's good he apologized. He knew better than to say that. HBO should probably suspend him for a while, or something of that nature, or they could get some backlash.

But then I don't know, because 9 times outta 10 nowadays... Most people who get suspended for controversy, don't come back... Egypt. W
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
It was pretty "yikes" to hear tbh. Like, he was so casual about it But, whatever. I think its good he apologized, but I don't think hes nearly as racist as the people he often debates or has on his show or tries to reach (sorta?) with his platform, so I'm not like, wishing for the end of his career or anything 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
Jester 6,365
It's 2017, everybody should be free to say the words they want to. Especially when it's not meant as an insult. When it is, people will judge you because you're **** and deserve it.
Sakrai 4,759
People getting all up in arms about this is a symptom of America's sickness. We're literally living in the age of obscurantism again, promoted by people obsessed with playing the game of moral highground. It's depressing Oh, I'm just visiting-
Eighteen 5,430
i like whoopi goldberg's explanation of this the best: she said we give the word too much power. but for me intent matters a lot too. like if someone is throwing around a slur to hurt someone then it's highly offensive. if it's in a joke then it really depends on the joke and who's saying it. for this joke in particular, if i'm going to be completely honest, i thought it was a little bit funny, even though it's clearly in poor taste. i know for a fact bill maher isn't a racist so ya. Burger 307
Non-black people are so compulsively obsessed with that word. It's like air and water for them.

Especially when it's not meant as an insult. When it is, people will judge you because you're **** and deserve it. There' s a problem in america with black people. First, they got stolen from their homes and forced into slavery. After, the americans decided to have sagragation (a system that keeps different groups separate from each other, either through physical dividers or using social pressures and laws. In the 60-70's they got BEATEN UP and SPIT ON and called the n word. Nowdays in 2017, there are still millions of racist people who use the N word in order to verbally attack black people, in the streets, school, work, bank and EVERYWHERE. Not to mention how many black people were shot unfairly in the last couple of years ( ex: 13 year old wearing a hoodie or the other one that had a toy gun). So even if you dont find it offensive bc ur not racist.. Racism still exists in america, many people use that word in an offensive way, and the black people still UP TO THIS VERY DAY, SUFFER FROM RACISM. So why continue use it? When it makes certain people offended? Why cant u just replace it with another word? IS IT THAT HARD TO JUST USE ANOTHER WORD? As long its used by other people to verbally attack someone... then it should be avoided. I really dont get it why u guys still dont understand such issue. And for you who are not americans and dont have much information.. it would be better to just ignore this kind of topics, rather than just coment for the sake of saying smth.
