BUT these hooks are good and I actually love this kind of darker more bass and bubbly synth production with Katy's voice way more than the lighter stuff on Prism. Dark Horse would've fit on this album. So far? Better than Prism, but these tracks are kind of about nothing. Song wise, these are pretty much all certified bops, but theres very little substance, and the album itself just feels like a collection of tracks I wish she had discussed why it was called Witness, what inspired this record, etc. during the promo. It didn't need to be a concept album, but even saying "I was writing what was on my mind" or "I wrote about recent experiences, and things started to take shape" etc. is something It feels like her label was like "Hey, stop screwing around and make us an album so we can sell it" and she was like "K".
