The travel ban may actually help terrorism since terror groups usually use laws and words like what Trump says to help recruit members. I hate when ppl use tragedies to push illogical agendas. im all here for protectionism but the ban is not the way to go. it feels like a dumb way to ease the fear growing in the west. We need better solutions. Also lest we forget that muslims are the #1 victims of these terror attacks commited by ISIS and co. its a world wide battle between us (all of us...including muslims) and the terrorists and extremists. I don't think it is our obligation to let people in, especially those of a culture which is very anti-gay, punishes apostasy by death, is terrible in terms of women's rights issues, and is currently in a condition where radicalization is becoming increasingly prevalent. And I don't care if that makes me xenophobic or racist. However, the bigger issue at hand is homegrown terrorism. In the last decade, all successful Islamic terrorist attacks in the US have been homegrown. Of the 50 known attempts, 42 were considered to be homegrown. ISIS preys on Islamic citizens through the internet, and with convenient access to guns in the US, why would ISIS go through the inconvenience of coming here when they can get some fool to do their dirty work at the touch of a click? The broadness of the internet makes combatting homegrown terrorism all the more challenging. Personally, I wish Trump would focus on homegrown terrorism more as that is undeniably the bigger issue.
