oheyitso 2,819
I've seen so many comments, tweets and threads over the fact Gaga hasn't commented on the recent terrorist attacks in Manchester and London, and after relistening to Joanne, I've realised the importance of the album in forever making her political statements without her even needing to. Gaga already has made her political statements, all the statements about terrorism, equality and freedom that she could possibly make are embedded into her music, especially Joanne. She has proven herself as an advocate for everything good in the world. She doesn't need to tweet, perform, or show herself as being against the terror that goes on in the world because we know she already is and always will be. Just in case you forgot :"Everybody's got to love each other Stop throwin' stones at your sisters and your brothers Man, it wasn't that long ago we were all living in the jungleSo why do we gotta put each other down When there's more than enough love to g-g-go around?" "Why do we gotta tell each other how to live? The only prisons that exist are ones we put each other in Why do we gotta tell each other how to live? Look what that rainbow did" "Shots were fired on the street By the church where we used to meet Angel down, angel down But the people just stood around" "I'm a believer, it's a trial Foolish and weaker, oh, oh, oh I'd rather save an angel now I'm a believer, it's chaos Where are our leaders? Oh, oh, ohI'd rather save an angel down" "'Cause it's a fired up world Oh, oh, make it all make sense Oh, oh, does it all make sense?Oh, oh, make it all make sense" She'll be respecting in her own way. Future Lover 2,588
It wouldn't kill her to tweet about it or at least acknowledge it in some way.
Saint Hollywood 37,364
She probably has sent condolences privately, while some of us are angry as to why she hasn't stated anything publicly. We never know what goes on behind the scenes.
oheyitso 2,819
Just now, Future Lover said: It wouldn't kill her to tweet about it or at least acknowledge it in some way. How is it a reach? It's quite clear her views on terrorism, a song means much more than a tweet. Tiktok: owenbybush

Putting it in her music speaks louder than some lame ass tweet saying "I'm so sorry, we will get through this together~" for the thousandth time. androiduser 7,438
clearly her message hasn't helped and hasn't made a positive influence and she needs to repeat it.
Thomas P 18,479
I think she still should have said something though. I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.
shame 25,360
People are getting pressed over a lack of a tweet. Where were all the complaints about Gaga not tweeting about everything else that is going wrong in the world? So she should tweet now because every other celebrity and their grandmother is doing it? Why is it that nowadays tweeting about something makes you seem like a validated moral person more than silently acting on your condolences... Social media can only help to a certain extent. Whatever happened to pure contributions? Gaga could very much be showing her support in a different, more substantial way. I agree with the OP, she's conveying her message through her music, and as an artist, it speaks more volumes than taking to the Twitter to post a <140-character message. angels forever, forever angels
Kermit 15,807
Only people who worry too much about their stature go on social media and brag about doing something good. Gaga's not one of those people. Why is every expecting her to do what Taylor Swift or Nicki Minaj do? Heroes work in the dark. The wrong type of heroes work in the light. “For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity.” ― Jean Dubuffet
RaRaRamen 1,358
Yes! A tweet doesn't mean anything/isn't always genuine. Gaga has proved that the most meaningful contributions aren't limited to 140 characters. I need a winter candy apple and an iced gingerbread candle, both three-wick, or I'm boycotting. gagaofvengeance 267
It's because of people like you guys who bring her down. You guys call yourselves as her fans but keep dragging her just because she didn't tweet anything about manchester? Use your ****íng brains for fücksake. I'm sure she already texted or sent flowers or something to Ariana's team to support + love. I just can't with some of you on GGD. I know your point "its not wrong to tweet" bla bla bla bullshīt it's her account it's her own fuçking choice to tweet about it or not.

Her friend just died and even if that weren't the case, she's not obligated to tweet about ANYTHING. Maybe she's taking a break from social media. I can't with you. KingRedd 3,139
Social Media isn't the only way to pay condolences. Celebrities shouldn't be forced to talk about every issue in the world. People die everyday and you can't expect people to constantly dwell on it. Its not healthy nor is it realistic. There are terrorist attacks all the time in the middle east and not many celebs talk about that. She can do as she wants without the approval of fans because of a tweet lol its silly. River 117,324
Stop forcing her to tweet something like little kids, enough with that. A tweet will not beat the evil in the world, it's just a tweet that will disappear in a few days.. it has no meaning.. it's void. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
shoful 13,304
I dont get why people expect her to comment on this. Theres really nothing to say. She's just a person. What? Is her tweet gonna change the lives of all those people effected. This is out of her realm of responsibilities. She's not a politician. I don't get why people think Celebrities should tweet about everything that goes wrong in the world. It really relates nothing to them. "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."
