BLACKOUTbritney 22,356
Just now, None of us said: Maybe it is something deep The song is literally about being spread like a buffet for a lover. The video is just an overly sexualised portrayal of the songs lyrics. Its cute but nothing serious. She probably sat around with her team and they were like "what would get people talking about they video?". And they decided "WOW, the songs about being eaten out, lets have people cook and eat you!!!111111!!!"

Sorcerer 12,487
I actually don't understand the direction of this album as well. CTTR sounded like some 80s bop and then she went on with these chorus-less dance songs in BA and SS. That "woke" thing she started in CTTR did not really translate well in BA. (BA is not about women empowerment, my goodness ) And my God that aesthetic. She's doing that low quality colorful pop art thing, but I don't think someone ever said that it is visually pleasing. PRISM was also not visually consistent, but at least it was visually pleasing. And what are we going to witness anyway? I know Witness is just like a collection of songs and not a concept album, but Gaga said the same thing about Joanne and Joanne is sonically and aesthetically consistent. But not in the sense that was presented. It's more like Katy and Migos attacking unsuspecting upper class people who think they can just buy whatever they want and the group reverses it the last minute. But of course how it translates to anything relevant in today's politics is not clear. Flyin' like a 1000 Doves
RAMROD 109,381
It's so blatant! She is selling her soul to demons with this album! That explains her odd behaviour lately!

I can't agree on this because of her use of black hair in these promotional shots. Right away when I saw these, I questioned why she wasn't blond and said "Consistency, Katy!!" You know, the same thing happened when CTTR came out. People in this forum said it was just about dancing and partying and when I said it wasn't they said I was delusional. Then the music video came out and they still didn't understand its message lol. People like to criticize others about not having substance but they can't even understand a simple message in a song and music video by themselves

Like she is asking us to witness everything that happening around us in CTTR Then in bon appettit, her visuals direct towards how women are portrait as a meal in the society In Swish swish she is telling everyone her side of the whole Tay tay drama, asking us to witness it. Also at very beginning of the era she kinda already mentioned the whole theme as woke pop etc and she is indeed binding the singles by using woke references in either the song (cttr) or visuals (bon appettit). In terms of basic look of the era, her going blonde so far, is consistant. She said Bon Appetit was about "sexual liberation". It's clear it didn't have a true meaning, she released it cause she thought it'd be a hit.
