Situation at Evergreen State College

There has been a major controversy at Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA recently about a professor who recently came out against a "Day of Absence", in which White students would not be allowed on campus (a reverse from what normally happens, where students of color would leave campus.).

Philip DeFranco explains it here:

If you're really interested in it, Free Speech Advocate and Classical Liberal Dave Rubin interviewed the professor.

I am 100% with the professor, and Phil DeFranco, Dave Rubin and Bret Weinstein all make good points about the current state of this situation.

Spoiler

Things like this are definitely pushing me towards the center of the political spectrum.

you can't just kick someone off campus bc of their race :awkney:

POC voluntarily left campus, you can't just TELL white people (or POC) they HAVE TO leave and participate in this...

god I f*ckin hate safe space as*holes that just want to scream over people and get violent. disgusting.

They wanted all white people to leave the campus? How is that going to solve a race equality issue? :rip:

Don't be fooled by these Right-Wing manufactured propaganda / narratives

You can read about what Evergreen's Day of Absence actually is here:

There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

watch the video dude?

I just watched a mob of POC trying to harass and threaten white faculty to get them fired or kicked off campus for a day(s)

they would ask them questions and then scream when they tried to respond, plus they backed a bunch of faculty into corners and wouldn't let them leave! that's inexcusable. they all need to be expelled. THAT'S an unsafe learning environment.

don't be fooled by liberal propaganda, watch the damn videos yourself lmao

I'm honestly not about to get into this argument because I have a huge problem with BLM movement and other race equality movements for this exact reason: it's not about equality in its underlying beliefs, and it's really not solving anything, but rather making the divide even larger.

Their Day of Absence/Day of Presence are meant to be days of activities devoted to the history of the event and the "community" involved in members of the campus. Asking an entire race of people not to show up to campus is absurd and solving absolutely nothing, and has nothing to do with the intent of the activities.

Just watch the videos. Black students screaming at white professors about how they're tired of their whiteness. Please spare me.

The original intentions of the day were good, when they reversed it to not allow white people on campus, then they are actually becoming the very phenomenon they are critiquing.

That's not cool at all people are trying to learn man you're  getting in the way of their education. As a POC I wouldn't want this to happen to me and if it did it would probably make a lot of headlines but because it's white people no one cares, there's no point to this no matter what you're trying to prove or you're trying make a statement, it's stupid

One instance that doesn't represent an entire spectrum of though makes you change your political stance? This is why Trump won. Because people are so easily manipulated.

Safe spaces are great things. Don't assume that this is a good example.

And this represents ALL of BLM?.... I'm BLM and this doesn't represent me and many other supporters. The fact that people in this thread are so "fragile" "snowflake" and "butthurt" over this and not other issues going on EVERY ****ING DAY only justifies what we see.

Racism plays a role in American life 24/7 and it's the fault of not only the racists, but the people who support equity. And only when it affects themselves.

Hahahaha, you think this is just one example?

ive seen BLM protest gay funerals and vigils for the Orlando Pulse victims. BLM held "protests" to make sure LGBT cops weren't allowed in pride parades in Toronto. I've watch BLM protesters go into a library during finals well to scream at the top of their lungs "black lives matter" for hours.

BLM and liberal "protestors" also got so offended at the mere idea of someone visiting their campus that they didn't agree with, Ann Coulter, and got so violent and threatening they had to scale back free speech to not trigger their snowflake minds into a violent frenzy bc apparently they can't control themselves

This is not one thing dude, wake up :saladga:
