PH to be under Marshall Law, once again

Oh my God. I can't believe what's happening on my country. 

"If I think that the ISIS has already taken foothold also in Luzon, and terrorism is not really far behind, I might declare martial law throughout the country to protect the people," Duterte said in a press briefing upon his arrival from an official trip to Russia on Wednesday. Read more here.

I know that my fellow countrymen have become traumatized to this but seeing that our president is considering to expand the Marshall Law to our whole country could mean that things are getting out of hand. 

If things do, can anyone of you invite to live with you for a while? (Just kidding)

But still, could this really help? Are things really this bad?  I'm just 17 and seeing these things happen just makes me question the future. I'm trying to be optimistic af but I can't with all these happening and literally being scared for my family's life.

This is scary for our country. There must be some alternative way to stop ISIS. Martial Law is not necessarily bad because it is constitutional, but if it goes in the wrong hands like how Duterte idolizes the dictator Marcos, I feel worried. But then the Congress needs to approve the Martial Law first before it happens.

For the record, the only part of the PH under the law so far is the southern islands, not the entire country. Today's Martial Law, for us citizens, is nothing beyond a curfew. The constitution back then was different during Marcos' time. Unlike his time, the congress is in control. All law cases are controlled and handled by officials now, not the military. The Martial Law during Duterte's term is just to heighten security, which is for the public's own good.

@Camore His measures may somewhat appear unorthodox, but that doesn't mean he's a dictator. His "idolization" for Marcos or whatever the heck you call it, does not give away anything that may lead him to monopolize the country. Marcos is Marcos, Duterte is Duterte; he has his own ways. I know this because we Davaoeños know his ways better than anyone outside our walls.

I know honey, that's why I'm not jumping to conclusions. As I've said Martial Law is constitutional and helpful. But then again, the news said this:

"Duterte on Wednesday morning said he will be "harsh" in implementing martial law, which he said "will not be any different" from the military rule under dictator Ferdinand Marcos."

And we all know what happened after the military rule in Marcos' dictatorship. But I am hopeful that Duterte's efforts will be helpful.

We need more news about what's going on, but so far, only Mindanao is placed in military rule. But  I really doubt if Martial Law and suspending the writ of habeas corpus is necessary for the WHOLE country, especially if Duterte wants to be "harsh"

The news says its just for Mindanao, but I mean, we all expected this from the get go. He's a man who justifies murder as if it was the new normal. I wouldnt be surprised if the whole country would be in Martial Law later. Its sad but people especially those who did not live through Marcos' reign are so dumbfounded with all the "he's a hero" crap. Our country (most people I know) treat Duterte like he's the second coming of Jesus when all his priority have been solely focused on his ideal of dealing with crime. People power 3.0 here we come, in the meantime let this country get what it deserves, afterall they voted for him.
