yxi 4,999
Ayumi Hamasaki has begun to lose her ability to hear out of her right ear, putting her down a path to becoming completely deaf. In a blog posted to her Team Ayu site on May 20, Hamasaki revealed the news that she is becoming completely deaf. "I was told after various hearing tests that my right ear (which has been working overtime to compensate for the deafness of my left ear) is quickly weakening," she said. "I was experiencing crippling dizziness. I was unable to walk in a straight line, and was often vomiting in the restroom while at the rehearsal studio," she said. With her complete deafness becoming a reality, Hamasaki has been struggling to cope with how to move forward with life after spending the majority of it as a pop superstar. "I remember wondering how would I as a singer be able to cope with two useless ears. I was in the dark," she said. “Nevertheless, I would like to continue as a singer. That’s why I would like to continue singing until I reach the limit with my remaining right ear, I won’t stop. I won’t make excuses. As a professional, I would like to deliver the best performance for everyone. The stage is where I belong. It’s the only place I really, truly exist. I don’t know anything else."http://www.jpopasia.com/feed/21417/ayumi-hamasaki-becoming-completely-deaf/http://aramajapan.com/news/pop-music-emergency-ayumi-hamasakis-non-deaf-ear-is-going-deaf/75372/

Shipper 13,077
Gaga said in an interview, I think a Howard Stern one, how excessive touring hurts her ears too. She said something about the loud music, the screaming fans, and the stereo playing constantly for months would sometimes make her unable to hear herself sing a few days after. Even touring takes a toll on you and your body. Ayumi is a great singer and hope she can cope with the changes. Im not sure if she was born with weak hearing or the excessive loud music from performing weakened her ears but I hope she can find other means to cope. I did learn in my Anatomy and Phys class that once the hair in your ears responsible for vibrating enabling you to hear dies from very loud music, it wont be able to grow again. Turn down the volume, kids. 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶

I can never understand why music has to be played so loudly in concerts Gaga's shows were the loudest I have ever been to, I literally put my earphones on

Do like 1 major concert every year and release music form time to time. She can't go on like this. She said music is her life and she wouldn't know what to do without it. So she should salvage the hearing she has left to last for the rest of her life instead of being deaf at 40 unable to hear anything ever again. Like... it wouldn't be the same life... she'd have to learn sign langauge and everything... This whole situation bothers me so much. I wihs I could just give her a slap and tell her to pull herself together and think of herself. This isn't what a professional should/would do. This and I personally think that she's really stubborn, she was told like a thousand times that her working environments hurt her and she has to do something to stop it, and she still insists to tour this frequently, I started years ago to question if buying her music is good to her or not, cause I literally have all her products including the >50 singles,it started to feel creepy to "support" her when all supports turned out harming her
littlepotter 75,130
This is heartbreaking! I wouldn't be able to even imagine what life would be like without music... What about her, someone whose entire career depends on it? I really hope she takes care of herself. chaeri pls

Taylor Z 108
I think the real reason why Ayumi wants to tour so much is because SHE knows her hearing is not going to last and she has limited time. We can't speak for her or tell her what to do. Just let the poor girl preform her heart out, and hear her fans scream for her while she has the chance to hear them It's what she wants como estas
Luc 4,775
That's terrible isn't there some technique to limit how loud the music is for an artist's ear?
