But we, as fans, need to quit acting like a song's "goodness" is objective. We can measure things like complexity, commercial success, aggregate reviews, etc. but what inherently makes a song "good" to one individual listener cannot be quantified. REALITY 76,234 Posted May 19, 2017 Share Posted May 19, 2017 Perfect Illusion was never a bad song imo. It's really interesting though to see the thoughts on it change. When it first came out it received mixed reviews (i.e. it's too "repetitive", it's too "rock", it's too short, etc.), but now it's pretty much universally loved. The raw and aggressive vocals, the hardcore, amazing instrumentals, literally everything about the song is amazing. Plus, you can tell it's very Kevin Parker/Tame Impala inspired—I sort of wish that they had done more work on the album together, and not just PI. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
