junolxf 8,654
Selena, Camila, Katy all have Hot Tracks placements and they're getting red updates like crazy. What's up with that? They'll have longevity tho. "Seems to be trendy lately to talk sh*t about 'Lady Gaga' when your albums/singles drop." - Leviticus 20:
Edge Of Venus 731
18 minutes ago, mistylake said: Well, why don't we look at numbers? The first single from Rebel Heart: "Living For Love" on Youtube => 29 million The second single "Ghosttown"=> 30 million The third single "Bitch I'm Madonna ft. Nicki Minaj"=> 241 million I don't see why it is not logical to say the MV has a lot of views because a lot of stars are in it. (maybe not the only reason, but part of it for sure...) I'm kinda surprised to learn "Bitch I'm Madonna" only peaked at #84 on Hot 100. This song sounds catchy and the MV is fun... Well tbh the BIM cameos did create hype but only for the first week which gave her a few extra million views. Let's not act like the Beyhive was checking out the video 2 weeks after the release. Other features like Rita Ora Chris Rock Katy Perry don't even have a big fanbase and they only showed up for like 2 seconds. The video went viral also because it was a hot mess and caused some controversy. Ghosttown also featured Terrence Howard who was the most hyped actor at the time, and it did nothing. Madge tried to be mature and AC-friendly with LFL and Ghosttown and nobody gave a s*** about those videos, which goes to my point that the best way for Gaga to have another successful music video was to do something daring, outrageous and have re-watch values (without them being too politically incorrect) John Wayne was a cute video with good cinematography and energy but it's still pretty basic compared to her heydays.
