What kind of song that didn't even top 20, let alone Top 25, on iTunes still get played on radio for the 6 months without any video? Plus once it was going to chart in top 10, their label fished in the Payola spot on TTH that wasn't even there before when it was still charting. It's simple marketing but well done. She was at SXSW prior to this which was highly publicized, then she had a sold out seven dates at Roseland closing and a follow up - a sold world tour. She had a hit single with Applause a couple of months earlier that at the time had 100m + views GUY was just not a good single run - promo wise and stuff. Even with that eye candy video she could not get anyone interested in the song due to lack of promo and few rookie mistakes they made with the roll out.
