DWUW vs Million Reasons Worldwide Chart Peaks

Australia - #21 vs #34

Canada - #3 vs #16

Italy - #3 vs #12

UK - #9 vs #39

New Zealand #12 vs #2(on the heatseekers chart)

Ireland - #9 vs #58

Austria #10 vs #52

Germany #14 vs #85

Japan - #26 vs N/A

France #8 vs #29

Spain - #2 vs #22

Sweden - #17 vs #71

I think it's safe to say DWUW was much bigger than MR worldwide and would've been even bigger with the video probably. Million Reasons went top 10 in like 4 or 5 countries while Do What U Want went top 10 in like 15+

These are just peaks. For example, Million Reasons is 2x platinum in Italy, DWUW is just platinum.

The fact that MR needed the SBHS, big radio payola, and discounts to get the same numbers as DWUW means hell no its not bigger. DWUW was a huge hit that got away because of poor management and no video, yet it was still a hit song.

DWUW sold ~1,3m in USA and it had AMAs, SNL, The Voice and the remix with Augilera! So it's not like it was not promoted etc. I'd call big payola a song with over 130m Al not ~75m which was the peak Al for MR. Anyway MR will pass DWUW's sales as it seems and in a much worse sales climate than back in 2013, so in USA it will surely be remembered as a bigger hit than DWUW!

DWUW was bigger. Like, there's no doubt about it.

Lol, how can anyone even use one example and say peaks are just peaks. LOL. DWUW was obviously much bigger and like you've said, it would have been even bigger with a video.

It would be funny if Joanne and Witness were like just a few copies away in pure sales when the exact number will leak

Why are you guys suddenly discussing which one was bigger between MR and DWUW? There are many things we should keep in mind. First of all, DWUW came after a hit (Applause), while MR came after three years of flop singles. On the other hand, MR is a country song while DWUW is a pop/R&B song with a feature, which gives DWUW advantage on radio. But, MR was performed on the Super Bowl.

From the way I see it, MR has a lot more longetivity than DWUW at least on the US, Italy and Switzerland, which I feel are the only countries where we can say MR was bigger (keep in mind that sales were a lot bigger in 2013 than 2016-17, so the fact that MR has sold almost the same as DWUW being a 2016 song is very impressive). But obviously, we cannot compare MR to DWUW on Denmark (#5 + Gold), UK (#9 + Gold) or Sweden (#17 + Platinum). DWUW peaked higher in every country from Europe (except Switzerland) AND managed to stay on the charts for a lot more weeks than MR. But once again, MR is a country song, and the US is pretty much the only country that likes that kind of music.

So? MR wins on the US, Italy and Switzerland, but DWUW wins on the rest of the world. Which one was bigger? Depends on you.

I'm only good at being bad
