It worked when they had it for weeks on end with MR and it worked in the UK when they had the discount for over a month. Plus if it's selling 30k (possibly more if radio keeps increasing) at 0.69, the difference between that and ~16k at 1.29 (as it was before) is minimal - the 30k actually makes slightly more. It was in Top 30 when they put it on discount. Yeah I know what you mean but then everyone would be discounting their songs all the time if it is more profitable but apparently there are reasons why labels are removing and re-adding discounts on songs all the time. Maybe the discount exposure on the front page is pricy as well and they are calculating when and how long they are using discounts and there are many factors contributing to it when it pays off and when not. Additionally I prefer that they are focused more on radio right now which could push the song more on sales/streaming which would be more efficient than just a discount to boost sales which are declining anyway.
