Robo Ga 15,297
Y'all... if we only shopped at corporations where we agree with 100% of the CEO's views and choices... we would be making our own damn clothes from scratch My gay ass shops at UO all the time. Doesn't make me support LGBTQ rights any less. Plus UO employs countless LGBTQ folk sooooo 🤖⚡️
Dorothy Gale 7,575
I'm gonna get **** for this, but if Gaga refused to work with anyone who has different beliefs than her we wouldn't have much to look forward to. Coachella is allegedly owned by bigots, and somehow the backlash only landed on Gaga, not Beyonce. She's held to a different standard. So, we'd have no Coachella performance. Everyone is a hypocrite to some degree. Bey's products were made in a sweatshop and she faced little backlash, but this will most likely get picked up by the mainstream news. It's just ridiculous. Is everything you buy ethical? Do you work for a 100% ethical company? Do all of your associates hold the same values as you? Do all of your family members have the same political beliefs? But it's unavoidable to shop at Chinese owned companies sometimes, even the developer of my house is very pro China, it's not like I won't live there. However, from Gaga's perspective, she can always choose a business partner that sees things the same/similar as her. There are plenty of non homophobic companies for Gaga to choose. We have no choice because we are not those tycoons, they basically monopolised a lot of things. But if you own a business like Gaga do, you can always choose. Look at Apple for example, they actually have guidelines for their OEM factories to follow to protect human rights in China. Gaga should choose someone who doesn't think the opposite of her to work with next time IMO.

Dirtyicecreamz 1,716
LOL. yet urban outfitters is the shop where i see the MOST gay asses. I'm not gonna pretend i'm offended or hurt cause my gay ass shops at UO all the time. and Gaga can do what she wants. That being said, it's a bad business move. Maybe next time she should focus on the cure. Stop the music, Start the drama.
Miel 15,009
Unfortunately, I feel like her team just doesn't know about the unfortunate implications of Urban Outfitters, as a corporation. I mean, she's pulled out from big Target deals before, because they went against her civil beliefs. I'm kind of sure she'd be more critical if she knew that. 3 points in and ready for more

This is also the unfortunate truth. A lot of big, big corporations are, unfortunately, not always going to align with more civil rights beliefs. Chik-Fil-A is a prime example. Although, them an UO are certainly pushing it. 3 points in and ready for more
KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
All they did was pay Gaga to use her image to sell things. It's all they do, also with vinyls and etc, it's not that Gaga went there and asked them to sell her merch through UO. The thing you all should do is DON'T BUY anything, I won't. I've never bought something from them and I never will, UO for me is like the brand that sells the products that people will buy just to look like they're in the box, they overprice everything... What is a clothing brand doing selling overpriced vinyl records and turntables? They even sell OLD USED cassette tapes that are supposed to be mixtapes because they think it's cute and hipster. Only for the money, it's not that they care about music. I'm not that kind of person that feels like "omg a pink vinyl, I need it". They know you'll need it at the moment they announce it. They're selling the Glory vinyl for 45€ when it's not even 20 on Amazon. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?
