if you are enjoying the music and concerts, that what other "payoff" do you think you are paying for?   If you are buying that stuff simply because it helps Gaga's numbers, then you are doing it for the wrong reason.

You need to find  YOUR identity, apart from your identity as a Gaga fan.  Being a Gaga fan is not why you exist, there are other reasons far more important.   You may not yet have discovered what it is, but it's out there.  Being a Gaga fan may be a part of your identity, but that is not  your ultimate purpose and your worth certainly does not depend on Gaga's chart positions or on how others perceive her.

It's not the sole reason, but through streaming parties, requests and other things it feels like I'm in an unhealthy relationship where I put in more and more with diminishing returns.

*No lies detected*  It's kinda sad honestly. This is why I can understand people having mini-meltdowns over this. Ever since ARTPOP, it's been a capital MESS. Cheek 2 Cheek saved her and I was so happy she ventured into Jazz to shut the haters up about her not being able to sing. But then after teasing us with RedOne pics you'd think she come back with a bang but does Joanne. That's why I'll never fully appreciate that album. I was too disappointed and I don't buy that "it's the real her" (but that's my issue). And now TC, an amazing bop that will never realize it's full potential. 

Being a super fan, I think that this right here is a legitimate reason to meltdown. I mean, every other fanbase can expect a new album from their fav every year, countless singles, collabs, and success cause they have a great team! and here we are praying that she tweets her audio link or that she'll attend the VMAs (like we do every single year....)

It's just not really fun being a fan anymore -(I think i'll make a thread about this to know what people are thinking as well)

Other fan bases are seriously spoiled compared to us. I just think Gaga needs to realize that she needs to be dedicated to being a pop star if she really wants hits, huge tours and impact. Perfect Illusion didn't get lead single treatment, and the promo for Joanne was left of center. Dive bars? I don't really feel like the era started until the super bowl and then Coachella and a new single got me more excited than I had been for years, and then within a month everything dies down completely.

I guess Gaga's old management really did a number on her. I can understand her not wanting to feel used, but some compromises must be made. I mean she hasn't collabed with an artist in a vevo video since Beyoncé in telephone, that's unheard of for a pop artist. I really believe Gaga with Taylor or Katy's team would do amazingly well.

Everything is so stop and go, video releases are months off from the single release, causing songs to be dead on arrival. I feel interscope no longer prioritizes Gaga and I wouldn't mind her joining another label. She might not have as much creative freedom, but if she wanted a commercial era to put her back on the map, she really needs radio on her side, timely videos, huge performances and talk shows.

It feels like Gaga is sabotaging herself to some degree. We had one new music video in 2013, one in 2014, two in 2016, and one in 2017. It was one thing when we were getting G.U.Y masterpieces, but with the recent quality I don't understand why she's still stingy with vids. Videos are important, as many channels play them and they get more views than audio uploads, when the views aren't split. Idk, I will always be a stan, but if Gaga doesn't change things I just see things further deteriorating. If we can't get some more big hits by the end of the decade then I think Gaga's mainstream music career will be over. Unless she can make her albums huge cultural moments like they once were and like Bey's currently are. There's a major lack of buzz and a disconnect between Gaga and the gp. They aren't up to date with her, and if you asked an average joe what Gaga was doing nowadays you'd hear a million different answers. I'm hoping ASIB can smash and give people a newfound interest in Gaga and give her music some more credibility.

It's just hard being a Gaga fan these days. I'm so jealous of other fan bases. For instance Taylor, Adele, Bey and Rih stans can pretty much talk to anyone about what there fave is doing. Gaga has become disconnected from the general public, and some think she quit music.

She is doing much better, but in terms of getting a smash it's a big hurdle for both of them, because most people prefer their catalog of hits from years ago to anything they could release today.

Fans need to quit laying their expectations for Gaga's career on her.  Gaga's has other priorities besides "pop star".   It's hard to believe that fans seemed to have missed the memo when everything she's done the last few years just proves that she has wider aspirations and more varied interests than simply being a pop star.  Gaga's not the one with the problem, its the fanbase and stan culture that won't accept her for who she is.

Yes plz do make a thread about that. I feel like the good sis @Dorothy Gale can't even speak her mind anymore because she has made multiple threads about htis and so ppl don't seem to want to even start a conversation with her even though she is making legitimate points but maybe they will take you more seriously and actually start a dialogue instead of shutting the topic up right off the gates.
