iTunes description of MDNA mentions Gaga

The Queen of Pop may be growing older and she may be writing about things she never dreamed she'd be contemplating back when she was telling Papa what not to preach, but Madonna is still musically as youthful and limber as ever. MDNA is her "divorce" album, an idea that gathers steam when you hear words like "pre-nup" and "ex-wife" bounce up in the mix. A committee of producers ensure she gets the sleekest sounds currently available and when she toys around with her image, it's mostly to prove that Lady Gaga still has competition. "Give Me All Your Luvin'" features a cheerleading section that includes M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj. "Superstar" unashamedly pushes a chorus that's simplistic but effective. The most interesting moments are the most explicit, when Madonna sheds whatever politeness she's maintaining for what she's really thinking. "Gang Bang," whose violence seems aimed right at ex-husband Guy Ritchie, and "Some Girls," where the hurt and bitterness sounds a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, represent Madonna 2012-style. The Deluxe Edition includes five bonus cuts, including the retro-pop "B-Day Song" with M.I.A. and the self-explanatory, "I F****d Up."

What the hell, lol. In my opinion, this is kind of petty of iTunes.

Ya she needs a committee to make sure she can try and catch up with Gaga and Gaga makes all her music by herself and its still better. This is a tragic attempt at shading Gags.

Sounds kind of embarrassing for Madonna lol she's a legend, she doesn't have to "prove Gaga still has competition"

I love that Gaga is still compared to Madonna to this day, and Madonna's fans still are so pressed by her. Her impact was so huge that to this day the comparison is made, and it's an honor honestly.

That sounds so patronizing to both Gaga and Madonna. They're both extremely talented artists who have done their own thing, why the need to make them battle constantly? I'd expect this from gossip sites but not iTunes :toofunny:

They're not wrong though. It was the MDNA era they were both "clashing" in, and also the tour Madonna played BTW in a condescending way every night to her crowd

"[...] it's mostly to prove that Lady Gaga still has competition."

Sorry but Madonna has been releasing music for almost 40 years now. I don't think she released MDNA to spite Gaga. :air:

It's not shade. It's a compliment to both women. Madonna still has it in her to compete with Gaga, who's universally hailed as the new Queen of Pop. That's basically what they tried to say.

When the day the 'new' Gaga comes in a few deacdes,  I hope Gaga is as classy and graceful as Julie Andrews was when she heard Gaga was singing songs from Sound of Music. The woman acted like a fairy godmother goddess and that was just from a minute of screen time!

Madonna should have acted as a mentor and actual legend by acknowledging Gaga gracefully and not acting pressed and bitter about a new artist following her steps.
