If this is proven to be true and the story yesterday about the classified information, his poll numbers will tank. And more stories are going to be coming out in the next few months as well because new sources are continuing to pop up out of nowhere and these leaks don't seem like they will end anytime soon. If the GOP sees that Trump is hurting their chances in 2018 and that Mike Pence will help them (assuming he isn't impeached as well), they will want him impeached because they don't want to risk losing. As @Born To Slay said, the Democrats best chance at sweeping 2018 and 2020, is to let Trump continue to damage himself..

The big risk with the Washington Post & NY Times story is that if this and the classified Russia information is proven to be false, his polls numbers will rise and the media won't be taken seriously. I hope they wouldn't lie just for a story.

That is possible, he most likely won't be impeached until 2018, it takes a while for a president to be impeached. Mike Pence also most likely won't win in 2020 because the country is becoming more and more liberal each year (Republicans haven't won the popular vote since 2004). 

Just remember, this story has not been proven true yet, if it is, impeachment will come sooner because of Obstruction Of Justice. The Russia Classified Information story from yesterday I believe is most likely true because of McMaster's vague responses and comments today, but it is 100% constitutional for a president to tell other nations classified information. I don't think it is morally right and I think it is dangerous.
