Like Batwings said above, lots of Americans see it more like a sports team than anything that can truly affect them at the local level because politics only happens 'up there' and 'far away'. There also might be a good amount of apathy after a slew of events in the late 20th century, such as the Watergate Scandal, the Iran hostage crisis, the Iran-Contra affair, the Lewinsky Scandal, and so many other silly things that it's hard to even care. This is a big part of it. Many Conservatives just have a seething hatred of Obama for whatever reasons and would gladly see anything with his name attached to it be completely diminished. (I live in the South, and there are a lot of people here who still fully 100% believe that he is a Muslim whose sole goal as president was to destroy the U.S.)

Even Democrat Senators agree. It doesn't cover everyone. The only solution is single payer health care. It is much cheaper GGD Presidential Elections

imnotyourbabe10 6,120
If this weren't real life, I'd throughly enjoy watching this entertaining shitshow. But because it is reality and has repercussions, I'm nauseated. Really makes me question people's authenticity when they preach love but act like such hypocrites (looking at you, GOP---oh and the Dems can't be let off the hook, either). Such a divisive time the US is facing.

And the ACA is not a perfect bill, I was watching Kirsten Gillibrand on The View (Democrat Senator) and she even agreed the costs are way too high for individuals and small businesses. The best thing to do is to repeal the ACA and replace it with Single Payer Health Insurance like the UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, Israel, ect. I know that ACA is not perfect. But the people here in Germany would certainly show their solidarity, if several million of fellow citizens would lose their health insurance - or might not be able to afford a repealed/replaced health insurance anymore. Thank God we have a compulsory health insurance here in Germany for EVERYONE, which works really very good! MAKE LOVE NOT WAR

That is why we need single payer like Germany. GGD Presidential Elections
