Why Can't We Have A Legitimate Smash?

Something that does intrigue me though is how the public eats Sia up. Gaga and Sia have a lot of parallels in terms of vocals and artistic identity. Maybe Sia just excels at writing pop hits.

To tank due to lack of promotion

Imagine if Perfect Illusion had CTTR's rollout, it might have performed way better, seeing as how CTTR was estimated to sell 45k before the Grammys performance, a huge performance like that first week would've at least made it a top ten hit.

But why? :duck: Why does smashing mean so much to you?

Existing and staying in the Hot 100 top 10 for more than two weeks; the song stayijg in the top 20 on iTunes for like a 3 month  run

edit: I thought you meant the definition whoops.

She's newer to the GP, and they want the Gaga formula from someone other than gaga. Look at Iggy, people wanted a female rapper in a white body. Similar concept. Sia is a safe choice, people will make fun of you for liking Gaga.

If The Cure tanks, I'm never helping Gaga promote her songs again. She just wants to tank and tank and tank. When her contract with Interscope ends by the end of the Joanne World Tour, she better not sign up for another contract. I'd just be confused, bc she doesn't want to be famous anymore.

Because people judge musical quality according to the charts, and Gaga puts in work, wouldn't it make you mad to see someone put in a ton of work into a project only to get a B- while someone who cheated gets an A+?

Something Joanne can't relate to. Sia is the weird pop bitch the GP likes, like how Rita Ora replaced Rihanna for a minute

Why does everything I like become uncool to the GP? It's like the tenth time this has happened.

What we need to remember is that the charts are not indicative of quality and that the charts are based on opinion. That doesn't mean to say that the charts don't have quality songs on them, but people aren't actively searching out quality and analysing things when they listen to the radio and so on, if they like a song for whichever reason then that's that  You can work extremely hard and not land anywhere in the top 1000 or you can basically have everyone do it for you and get a top 5, it's just the reality of the charts and I think after the fickle and unpredictable nature of it is accepted and gotten over then mentally and emotionally we're already in a much better place :nick: We stop giving importance to it and getting upset/angry over it. If something we like performs well then yes it does feel good and it's great to celebrate, but getting down over percieved underperformance doesn't do anyone any good or help anything either :ohno: All we can hope for is that Gaga continues making music that she wants and that she's enjoying herself and that what she releases falls in line with what we enjoy as well because then it's even better for us :laughga: If other people are liking it enough to make it a smash then that's awesome, but if not then whatever, we're still getting the music at the end of the day :woohoo:

It kills me to see The Cure not being promoted. It could have been her biggest hit in years - especially in the UK.
