Maybe we will break the record this year. :excited2:

We can always hope but I don't think so :ohno:

The current record is at 43 countries so it would require all the likely to return plus some of the unlikely.
I don't think Kazakhstan or Kosovo will debut next year. Neither of them are active members of the EBU.

I think Kosovo will probably not participate, but I'm sure they are trying to in the future. Kazakhstan is a associate member of the EBU, so they are allowed to compete, right? :oprah:

If all the likely will participate, which I think they will, we will have 41 countries in the competition. If Israel gets their **** together before December, they will participate too, which makes it 42 countries. If San Marino won't withdraw we'll have 43 countries. We just need one returning country (Slovakia, sis, how you doing?) or a debutant.

I think there is a possibility we'll have 43 countries again. But at the end of the day I would always want quality and not quantity.

Associate members are not allowed to compete. The only exception so far is Australia.

It's a shame Scotland didn't break free from UK when they had the chance. Then we could've had another country by now :green:

But you're right about quality and not quantity :gaycat:

Hmm, oké, it took Australia only 30+ years. :selena:

Right, I would love a bagpipe bop. It's funny/sad how Luxembourg still has one of the most wins at Eurovision but they will probably never participate again. :air:

Kazakhstan coming in 2048, watch out :tony:

Me too! That would be great.
I agree, it's a shame but maybe for the best. It's a small country and I don't think the interest for ESC is very big there so they would probably be another San Marino :green:

NNN, inb4 you're right. :air:

Yeah, they are richer than San Marino, but I don't think they will be more successful.

Another Pretend to be shooketh moment:

Monaco won't be returning for 2018 either

Monaco had a big break from the contest between 1980 and 2003. Then they came back in 2004 and left again after 2006 after failing to qualify to the final for three years.
Their last entry was La Coco-dance which ended up on 21st place out of 23 with 14 points.

Liechtenstein has long been interested in joining Eurovision, but unfortunately they won't be making their debut in 2018 either due financial issues of becoming an active member of EBU
