Yeah I agree. I'm so not about this movie or her acting career and I wish she would focus on her music. I very much Miss when she was married to her music. But if it's not what she wants it's not what she wants and we must deal w it.

Kind of agree

Most people I know thought her acting was subpar on AHS anyways so I doubt the movie will do great

Plus I'm not here for much more countryga lol

At the end of the day as long as she's happy tho that's all that matters

All the pre-production of a movie is what takes the time and the actors don't take part in that. The actual filming of the movie is done very fast because saying some lines can be very quick. As this isn't a CGI film with explosions, it can be made and shot easily. Don't act like it's going to take a year out of her life or anything. This is a great chance for Gaga. Plenty of singers get offered the lead role in a movie when they're a decade into their career. Gaga has already done well with C2C and that Sound of Music medley. And the Golden Globe win. This is all leading to better chances to expand on her career. Even if she stopped being successful with her music, she would still have other things to fall back on to keep her around.

You've got to think about the opportunities this could bring. Bradley is well-respected by the academy. The film stands a big chance of getting nominated for something, especially in Best Song. Because Gaga will likely be the most recognisable name in that category if she does get nominated, she will likely win (also make up for her snub last time, which garnered so much controversy). If taking this time out of her singing could give her an Oscar, I'm down for it. So few pop singers get to win Oscars or even get a nomination. Even Madonna, Mariah and Beyonce have never been nominated for any Oscars, for acting or singing (you have to take part in writing the song to get nominated, so even though 2 of Madonna's songs got nominated, she personally didn't). If Gaga wins this, it'll increase her legacy more than it has already. What a coupe it would be to be leaving her first decade in the industry with an Oscar. And it might and nominated for and win a Grammy as well.

If you think she deserved the golden globe more than other actors you just show how much you're biased. Her acting still sucks. Yeah it was a cute first time, but girl needs to work a lot on her acting. I think there was something going behind the scenes also, she didn't seem surprised at all with her win. Let's be real :awkney:

I think anyone who believe her acting was bad was just a bit misunderstanding of the point of the role she played. She's supposed to be a vampire. She's a bitch, she's a *****, she's cold, she's calculating. That kind of role is designed to be played in a very emotionless way. She's this egomaniac person who only thinks about her own desires and won't fall in love. Such people are normally lacking in emotion because they don't deal with those pesky feelings that make someone human. She delivered all her lines the way a person like this would be. That scene where she says to her original mate "you were a pathetic addict dying on a filthy floor" with so many disdain, when she says being a vampire is "about the heartbreaks, the bigger, the better, I know better than any of us" with a wry smirk and when she purrs "it was the most erotic moment of my life" in reference to turning someone gave me goosebumps up both arms. I really believed she was this character.

The problem is, a lot of people see someone playing a cold character and assume they can't act. Acting cold can give that impression. This, I think, is the reason why the role of the villain is rarely nominated and awarded. I find, more often than not, that the villains are some of the best actors in a movie and yet, they get paid dust when it comes to accolades. We're naturally more inclined to believe that someone who is playing a "warm" good character is better than the person playing a "cold" bad character. It's natural to want to root for the good guy and it's also natural to be disinclined to support a villain, believing praising such a character sends the wrong message. I hope Gaga's GG win can be the catalyst for more villains getting noted for their talents because it's about time.

I agree tbh :whitney:

And I wouldn't be surprised if "ASIB" ends up flopping.

Will Fetters will be writing the screenplay for this movie:

“Remember Me" - the 2010 romantic drama starring Robert Pattinson. The movie received 27% on Rotten Tomatoes.

"The Lucky One" - the 2012 romantic drama starring Zac Efron. The movie received 20% on Rotten Tomatoes.

"The Best of Me" - the 2014 romantic drama that received a whopping 8% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Producers:

Bill Gerber: His only legitimate hit movie seems to be Clint Eastwood's "Gran Torino." The others - "Dukes of Hazzard", "Grudge Match", "Beerfest", "What A Girl Wants" - have an average Rotten Tomatoes score of around 20%.

Jon Peters: He produced the 1976 ASIB remake with Barbra Streisand (which flopped critically).

And this is Bradley Cooper's directorial debut! So we'll see what shall occur once  the movie is released.

You seem to be using outdated info.  Fetters and Cooper wrote the original screenplay.  However, the one they are currently using for the movie is by Eric Roth. He was an Academy award winner for Best Adapted screenplay for Forrest Gump (1994).  He also co-write the screenplays for several Oscar nominated films including: The Insider (1999), Munich (2005), and The Curious Case of Benjamin Buton (2008).   That's a pretty impressive resume!

Great.   Would love to know what else she remembers about Stefani.  Which concert?  I'm going to Joanne in Philadelphia.

She and I are both going to Fenway in Boston. I'm going the first date with my sister, and my aunts friend is going the second. :rockstar:

Considering most people liked her on AHS, and the fact that she won a Golden Globe on her debut, then I will say that their alignment is off by quite a bit.

No offense, but she didn't deserve the Globe at all. Kirsten Dunst was clearly robbed.  They nominated Gaga only because they wanted to give her the award. That was planned. They do this every year. She wasn't bad in AHS, but she didn't deserve any major award tbh.

Whether or not she deserved the award is another story. My point in saying this is that she was good enough on her acting debut to most people. This shows promise that at least she will keep improving.

She's starring in a major motion picture with Bradley Cooper, it's kind of important.
