Anyone who lives in Texas knows Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio are the only progressive places in Texas 

Perhaps other smaller cities like Corpus Christi and El Paso

but everything else is basically Trump land so I doubt any other city except these will fight back.

I'm sorry, there are probably millions of sane people living there, but most of them are disgusting and extremely delusional. I actually met someone at my university that was from Texas and she said that she was gonna vote for Trump "just because."

That's a bit of an overstatement... I live in Texas and in my city we're very much mixed politically. I've most definitely heard more Trump bashing here than supporting also.

It's also a bit weird to judge people based on their political party, don't you think? You seem a bit too exposed to Democrats and their view points, may I suggest expanding your social group?

How can a state/law enforcers decide to not enforce a federal law?

Federal law always trumps state law.

I understand the arguments for sanctuary cities and I agree with the logic, but legally speaking I think republicans have the better argument unfortunately.

It's not that they don't enforce a federal law it's that they take a lighter stance on it. Cops simply do not ask what a person's nationality is when interacting with them. However if the person gets arrested then they do need to note their nationality and immigration are informed, because that part is legal requirement.

(as far as im aware) the only difference in sanctuary cities is that you don't tell the cop you're illegal before they have arrested you as you might in another city when you get pulled over.

Isn't sanctuary cities already illegal by definition? It protects criminal illegal aliens, thousands hide in these cities. They go against federal law, the law is you have to come in legally, abide by the law, follow the rules, don't commit crimes, and you are ok

Edit: Just letting you know, I think non criminal illegals should be granted citizenship and we should make the process easier so more people can move here legally and not get taken advantage of by big corporations paying them less

Saying that about Texas might have been an overstatement,  But I have yet to find a Republican in my city bash Trump.  I have friends who are Republican, extended family like aunts and uncles, co-workers.  It boggles my mind that anyone could have voted for an idiot like Trump, or at the least  have zero criticism of him as a president.   I have disappointment in my friends by things they've said.  And they hate the Democratic Patty. We've all agreed to not discuss politics because it's talking at each other.  They hated Obama, refused to say anything nice about him  I find it off-putting that they ignore important issues and say nothing will happen, like taking away women's rights.

I am a Democrat.  Those are my INFORMED viewpoints and beliefs.  it's why I chose that party.  But  I read the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time Magazine, Newsweek.  I keep abreast of our country, the world, and politics.   I vote based on ideology and policy.  I am proud to be a Democrat because they most align with my ideology.  I call that informed.   I was proud to watch the DNC with a diverse crowd in the audience and diverse speakers, a hopeful convention, a forward-thinking convention.  The Republican National Convention was filled with white people and felt divisive.  Their platform at the Republican National Convention is not what I believe in and absolutely condemn parts of.

 I watch MSNBC's Morning Joe, a Republican might I add, with Mika, who is a Democrat, who have Republicans and Democrats on, because I like the balance as far as discussion.  If they were blind Trump cheerleaders and they weren't putting a microscope to this horrible administration and Trump, I probably wouldn't.  I respect the show with its balance.  Most Republicans who voted for Trump are all, go Trump, he's kicking ass, completely devoid of common sense on what a joke he is most of the time, nor appalled at times, all just happy Democrats are out.  Trump hasn't drained the swamp.  He's filled the swamp with inexperienced family and many horrible policies he's trying to implement.  Don't get me started about his executive orders.

Climate change is real.  The science is there.  What imbecile would deny Global Warming?  The Republican Party denies it.  I stand behind my beliefs and stay informed.   I find it reprehensible that anyone in this day and age would be behind VP Pence and all he stands for and a thin-skinned, verbally-challenged, narcissistic president like Trump.

Morning Joe on the new health care plan. Even Joe Scarborough calls out his own party.  The chart on the health care bill is depressing.
