Divine 1,828
To be positive, let's all hope that with 'The Cure' she can perhaps enter streaming game. Based on the charts section, it's stable and rising. She's in the top 50 (#47) most listened artist on Spotify. (she never reached that before i think?) I want her to be on top again, cuz she obviously deserves it. but yea, the industry today sucks like you need a rapper or some edm bar kind of music to have a hit. If trends don't change I'd be fine with Gaga just releasing movie soundtracks for now until doomsday. That's how bleak everything looks. SPS numbers of urban acts just destroy the charts. It spent 7 weeks at #2 It was so painful to remember I'm actually aware of that, but if streaming is a thing back then it should went number one. Bad romance was the most viewed video in 2009 right? the numbers of the video could add up to the sales of the single if it was the thing back then. Trends change and then people complain, the urban take over is more or less when electropop took over after the pop punk era. You can't expect the same thing to be charting forever, focus on the acclaim she has as a person. The urban trend has only been gaining momentum since 2013, and shows no signs of slowing down. How many pop girls will fall before pop music comes back in vogue?
Sister 9,907
I feel like everything is just so superficial these days, even music. People won't spend time to even care about their favorite artists new entire album, they will only "possibly" "like" the current singles and forget the rest of it, like no one has any time anymore for full albums. I don't know where we go from here, song after song, will albums slowly be uncalled for and isolated songs / singles just become what every artist is all about?! The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Vogueing won't be popular again but it's now part of our culture, same as, for example, punk and mosh pits. Urban will grow until something else finds it's way, it's just how trends go. If Gaga can't get radio back on her side with this song, she never will. I know I'm sounding like I have a defeatist attitude, but The Cure is literally tailor made for radio, so if she can't get 100 million radio AI with this song I'll have a meltdown. The thing is is that things are only going to get harder as Gaga gets older, as radio would rather play the ex-Disney and Nickelodeon girls. It already seems like the music industry is headed in that direction. Calvin Harris I believe is basically only making individual songs. Everything is very superficial, and many people will never give Gaga a chance because of her association with gays. Nine times out of ten people will just become sheep and listen to whateve their friends like and never try out new artists.

Oivind 287
"The Cure" is actually rising on the charts in the UK. This reminds me of how "Toxic" by Britney Spears never got higher than #9 on Billboard, because (from looking at the charts) americans were also going through an urban phase at the time. I think this is an american thing. I'm speculating that american kids are so governed by peer pressure, that they only listen to what all the cool kids listen to. Lady Gaga just isn't what the cool kids listen to nowadays. But really, who cares? She's doing great without being the hottest thing with american kids.
