I grew up with Madonna, as in I'm older than most people on this board and she has a good carreer but put it in the right perspective. Madonna was still very sucessful afterward tho. But she literally ruled the world pre-Erotica. But she was huge when the album dropped, it was an event with that book too. People were literally in shops creating a fuzz like it was Black Friday, it was even in our news lol. Even though you might not have been a fan I think everyone knew these books would become valuable and collectors items and it created a polarization like ARTPOP did but on a bigger scale since it wasn't just music but also challenging peoples views back then.
