How does the younger gen percieve gaga

The gaga we grew up with is different then the one now(or rather the gaga that the media created is different then the current one). We knew her back when she was really sexual and weird and cool and fresh

For a lot of younger people their first impression of her might be the halftime show and forward. Since then she's had a ballad (deep emotional song) and the cure (good song but nothing weird or sexual about it)

Honestly I don't think they know her very well. And the majority don't respect her or understand her accomplishments or impact. But that's how most musicians are treated by the younger generation as time goes by.

just old :smh:

but in a weird way it could be a postive thing... they think Gaga has been arund for a long time maybe as long as Beyoncé and Britney

they also still kinda think she's "that weirdo" but when they hear her sing and see her peform I feel they understand that she has talent and potetial (look at how many positive youtube reaction there are of her)

By younger generation do you mean like middle schoolers? If so, I'm pretty sure they don't care about her, they all mostly listen to brag rap.

True. As they get older they might put on poker face and percieve it as a classic (whereas back then the song was gonna be a classic and now its actually a classic)

They also dodged a bullet by not seeing her at her worst

You know, no shade or anything but like, I wonder how some of us reacted towards Madonna, maybe that's what they feel towards her.

Personally not the case with me and others too but. Just a thought

Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad.

They probably know who she is and that she's important but have no idea how or why

Kinda like how I perceived Madonna as a kid :madge:

Actually this :madge:

Pop stars in general aren't really popular right now anyways. It's all faux hip hop and lo-fi and down tempo music

This is true but gaga is gaining traction again and she's been on the radio for awhile now

When I was like 8 or 9 when Britney, and Christina came out, I KNEW them. And I grew up with them and their highs and lows in pop music and culture.

15-18 year olds lived in a gaga free world, but gaga 9 years ago was inescapable! I'm sure 7-9 year olds knew about gaga and still know about her.

I knew about MJ, Whitney, Elton John, Madonna thanks to my parents, so I'm sure parents exposed their kids to gaga in some way.

Maybe they didn't follow her but they know about her for sure, she just doesn't have the cool factor, or didn't. Maybe now she's kinda getting it back with SB and TC? Idk really

Edit: I didn't even answer the question :laughga:

I don't think the younger generation really even thinks about gaga, but I'm sure she's gotten their attention lately.

This all really depends on your location. The middle schoolers I know all mostly listen to this stuff that they think of super cool and gangsta, which are songs that if you look at the billboard hot 100 rarely chart high, but they linger around the lower end. Most of Gaga's chart influence probably comes from an older audience, not those kids who mainly listen to music that makes them think they're cool just because it has the explicit tag on it.

Kinda same. I just thought Madonna was this lady that had music to make me dance, discovered her after watching her music videos, because of the hot men in them and yeah.

Maybe that's just how the younger gen feels towards Gaga.

I work with middle schoolers and they all love Gaga. On a field trip the kids started singing Bad Romance on the bus
