because after Joanna was released a lot of fans were disappointed and looked back on ARTPOP and realized they should have been grateful for it so now people see it for what it is, a true masterpiece

Ever since people were getting the Aries symbol tattooed on them because they thought it was going to be the AP Era symbol :air:

Ever since I threw on my garden panties and blasted off to Venus with Mary Jane Holland so we could have some Sexxx Dreams while living that Gypsy life!

ARTPOP queered my soul...our Lady can do it all!  Each era is unique and special to each of us.  Cannot bring myself to dislike any of them!

For me, 3rd August 2012 when she posted this:

I immediately fell in love with the title and the idea. Back then I thought she'd go a little more alternative psychodelic-rock-modern-hippie-ish, but I love the EDM mess nevertheless.
Loved the Aura Leak, Loved the Applause 911 Emergency Mess, Loved Swinefest, Loved Venus, Loved DWUW, Loved the rest of the album. I never stopped loving it.
It's her imperfect perfection, her broken masterpiece, her vain attempt to get rid of all her pain, eventually turning it into her biggest anguish.

It's exactly the same thing that happened to BTW. Even TFM got that treatment in the beginning, it was just so successful that the hate stopped after Bad Romance started smashing... People appreaciate what they have only after they lose it, it seems... Or this fanbase is just full of drama queens that think they know everything...

It came during one of my darkest times I've experienced, went through a horrible breakup and it was the music I needed at that point in my life. The album was such an escape to everything at the moment but also so emotional. I did not visit GGD that much then - still not sure if I should have or not... But from what I remember, people DID like it in the very beginning (choosing the second single/fav song) but then the negative reviews and slander Gaga got maybe affected and suddenly here people were trashing the album...

I've loved the music since the album came out! G.U.Y. and MJH are some of my favorite Gaga songs ever :firega: Anyway, now that Gaga is on top again, I think everyone is getting over the disappointment of ARTPOP's alleged ''underperformance'' and ''broken promises''. Before ARTPOP was released, it was hailed as the biggest work of art ever, but it turned out to be just an EDM pop album with some art projects during the era. The album itself isn't bad, the expectations were just too high. And now we're starting to realize that the album is actually good even though the era wasn't executed perfectly. And I'm glad we're not distracted by all the sh*t that happened in 2013 - not anymore.

Gaga fans stan success, when ARTPOP was a flop compared to everyone else they hated it, now when other artists are struggling to sell 20% as much as ARTPOP, a bit because of the sales decrease, a bit because of other reasons, they stan it, because they don't see it as floppy as they used to.

same exact thing happened with this fanbase and BTW.

when the singles of BTW weren't selling as much as expected, fans began to turn their backs on the album and blamed the production on why she wasn't as popular.

then ARTPOP came and everyone suddenly remembered how iconic and superior BTW actually was.

seems like the same is happening to ARTPOP now that they have Joanne to compare it to.

Won't be surprised if in 2019, everyone's saying how much they miss the joanne era smh

Nah, this website had a melt down when this was released, with everyone calling the lyrics basic.

There was a general sense of dislike from many people on here back then. ARTPOP has only recently begun to be appreciated by a lot of people.

One must understand that many people on here let charts and public views affect their own personal tastes, which is insane.
