What if she released an EP/LP under Stefani Germanotta, and stayed a separate little side project that only fans knew about? While Gaga's real name isn't well known, using it as a name for a side project doesn't really work, since it's not another stage name. And Gaga, while known to do that, she honestly couldn't possibly keep it secret for too long. She gets too excited. Plus, I think Green Day released those songs without even fans knowing it was them. She is and forever will be Lady Gaga. From a business standpoint, it's, I'm sorry, but stupid. Like, not only does she have to take the extra effort to rebrand herself as "Stefani Germanotta", but she'd also have to re-educate people in saying that Stefani and Gaga are one in the same person. I mean, if you were just a regular member of the GP, how would you feel about Gaga all of a sudden just changing her name? I mean, you'd be like, "Wait, who is Stefani??", then "Wait. Stefani is Gaga?!", then "Why'd she change her name?!" Also, from an artistic standpoint, if she changed her name, it would seem as though everything she's taught and preached, especially about art, was all just a lie. I know, it's just a name, but like I said, she's built a legacy with that name, and she's not going to just take that down. It'd feel like we lost someone that we fell in love with.
