Oh my gosh, another reason to fall in love with Kylie! Those vocals (why does she sing it on the lower key during live performances?!), that video, those lyrics, that orchestration! This is as much as pop comes close to art. With its self-empowerment lyrics and newly assumed brilliant disco sound, it was probably the biggest reinvention of her career, and soundtrack to many people’s lives, who achieved to defeat their old selves. And that video, gosh! It was a flawless comeback indeed. And how come it comes as the sixth track?!! (10) @Turuncan

Not quite as perfect as On a Night Like This, Spinning Around is definitely a fun, catchy song with an iconic video and gets lots of respect as the song that put Kylie back on the map and began making Kylie the iconic pop-act she is today. (9.5) @IndieKylie

Though disliked at first listen (on the wonderful “Greatest Hits 87-99” compilation), I liked this “Impossible Princess” manifestation in the following days. Never separated from ‘Breathe’ neither on its parent album nor here, not even on the order of the single releases, it is a darker sounding inner look into Kylie’s character with her self-penned lyrics.
