The "New-Age Monsters"

I became a monster in 2013, and I can also see the differences in people depending on when they became a Little Monster. But honestly, it seems now that the older ones are the most rude ones because they tend to refer to "the good old days" (aka 2008-12) when bashing Gaga and how she looks/carries herself. 

It seems like the more recent ones are more lenient on how she portrays herself (2015-now stans).

Drama will always be on here, BUT, I will say that the community seemed a lot tighter knit back in the day!

There's a running joke between my 2 best friends and I that I'm still stuck in the born this way era because I openly share affection with my fellow monsters and everyday is free hug day for me lol. Unfortunately there will always be drama anytime you get a group of people together (lol you should see my bio sisters and I when we go camping every year. By the end of the week we hate eachother lol). At the end of the day, being a monster is something incredibly special. We arent a fanbase. We're family ♥️. Yeah sometimes we fight and scream at eachother but we always have eachothers backs when **** gets real

Sadly, post-millenials kids happened. (NOT ALL OF THEM. Just to clarify). But some of the today’s kids have been so intoxicated by all this shady/sassy/fight/competition culture, I guess. But, believe me, the good kind of monsters are more. It’s just that they’re doing more productive stuff in the world, instead of spreading hate here and all over the internet.

I became a Gaga fan when Just Dance came out...I became a Little Monster with Born This Way. As someone who has suffered bullying and hate both in person and online, I really cling to Gaga's message of love and inclusion. Might be why "Come To Mama" is one of my favorite songs. 

I will say the lack of unconditional support for her artistic expression, the hate and the bickering does make me sad. But we are humans and it's important to recognize that it isn't everyone. The majority of Little Monsters are very loving, kind and support her unconditionally.

What I find makes it easier is being kind to myself and others. I have PTSD and what Gaga said during the holidays is very true...kindness heals. 

Be the change you wish to see...be kind...theres gonna be no future if we don't figure this out. 

No shade or harm meant.

Lol I have people poke fun at me because I still refer to gaga as "mama monster". It's a term of affection for me. "Come to mama" is one of my fave gaga songs because I've always interpreted it as her way of saying that no matter how old we get, she'll always see us as the little monsters that need to be sheltered from the big bad world. Like any good "mama" We were the center of her world and while we're still a massive part of it, sometimes I think she wishes she could go back to the glitter and discostick days just for a moment to really cherish that time that she had with us. It's like she blinked and we were all "grown up".

I literally got teary eyed on my drive home tonight listening to Come to Mama thinking this same thing. 

Especially wondering if she wishes we would just focus on the message in all of her work of love, peace and inclusion and come to Mother Monster...really meaning "coming" to her and paying attention to the lessons she's taught us.

I definitely agree. I'll never understand why some of the older monsters lump BTW era in with "the good old days". 

It's like they forget how messy it was and how much over-exposed backlash she received. Apart from doing better on the charts (in the beginning at least), I don't see how the BTW era was really any different from the ARTPOP era. 

That being said, I've been a fan since 2009 and I've never been more proud to be a fan than I am now!

Exactly. She's taught me so much. She's taught me to be fearless and to never ever settle for second best while at the same time she taught me to be gracious and to say "I love you" to the people that matter the most. She made me realize that DNA isn't what makes you family. Yeah we don't share DNA but monsters are my surrogate family ♥️.

It's pretty ironic for a forum about a person who promotes Bravery and Kindness. Anyway, we can make this site better if we become better, hopefully most will follow and if not, they leave (like after the 2013/2014 drama)

Without all the fun the forum won't live. Look at those dozens other Gaga forums who are now cease to exist, nobody bothered to discuss anything unless it's Gaga related or they feel they can't take a dig on anyone cos it's not nice. In other words that is not realistic.

Humans are made of emotions, and that include the negative emotions. The key is to put ot to minimum rather that barred it altogether. Human need a release when they have pent up anger or stress 

Pretty sure Gaga knows herself that it is not realistic hence she never toucher the "THINK campaign" anymore and tbh, it's for the better. Uniformity = bad. 

Also, most of the shading are posted in playful way anyway. I feel that some modern teens need to get a grip and choose not to get offended by things so easily. Take discussions on forums as way to hone your public speaking skills, and how to deal with teasings. Cos this is the kind of thing you will likely encounter IRL. If you can't manage it here, how can you deal with face to face interraction and all the politics involved that might be unexpected?

Tbh, young people today are dubbed as triggered nation and I don't think that is something you want to associate with.
