TropicOfCANCER 6,292
Lmao @ the 50s version being the first to explore finding-fame trope when A. The first version of the movie came out in the 30s and B. This plot was done countless times in the 30s and 40s.

crushedlemonice 1,289
Yes because I love movie musicals, although it depends on who was starring. I probably wouldn't go see if it was Katy Perry
artpopulace 1,657
I rarely like musicals so I will probably not watch if Gaga's not in it... but Bradley Cooper will still make me watch i guess the milky way is 𝓵𝓲𝓫𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰

Summy 58
I don't know the previous ASIBs, I'd never heard of them before and I'm a bit disappointed that Gaga's first feature film is a third remake rather than something original. Also the plot doesn't sound like something I'd usually wanna go watch in the cinema. But I do like musicals in general and obviously if it's got Gaga in it I'll watch it and buy it and I'm sure she will be fab and I will have fun. The first version of the movie came out 20 years prior to what you stated, and many of the musicals from the 30s and 40s were about finding fame. So it's purely false to claim a 1950s remake of 30s movie was "one of" the first of its kind. But hey, it's 2017, facts don't matter I guess. OT: anyways, I'll watch to support gaga, but this movie, despite being a remake of previously existing films, sounds exactly like.....BURLESQUE! Down to the main character names (jack and ally)....really?
Michelle 2,056
I agree with you. I'm not much a musical person. I've seen the other two when I was younger because my Mom ....it's ok, I'm excited for her.

I literally put the year wrong cause I forgot and googled "a star is born" and the IMDb article about the 1954 version was the second result so I thought it was it. Fernster7 7,909
I'm mostly excited about the soundtrack but I'll still watch the movie. We have two selves. Doncho 27,241
Why are awards so important anyway? I will watch the movie and support Gaga in her first movie role. She needs her fanbase support. And besides, Sam Smith will eventualy give Gaga her Oscar back
