"I'll fix you with my love" doesn't really scream polished imo

neither does any of the verse lyrics lol

ofc there's a little calculation there in the production but there's such a rawness in the actual song content, the lyrics and the way she performed it that i can't think she's doing it soley for a smash

The lyrics and delivery are extremely radio friendly. The content is not the least bit raw, in my opinion lol. It's definitely a calculated move, but it's also a fantastic pop song and an undeniable earworm.

Joanne's always had a mixed fan reception. Personally, I love it, but it's a pretty significant departure from stuff like Paparazzi, Bad Romance and Applause, so I can see why people didn't dig it.

The Cure is a more traditional pop song, so I guess a lot of people who found Joanne too outside of their taste are happy to have a new song that suits them better.

There is definitely a lot of hypocrisy, and I even find myself struggling with it. I loved Joanne, it also helps that I really like country and rock music. There were definitely songs on Joanne that I had to learn to like. Regardless how much I can say I only care about the music, I still yearn for her to be on top of the world again.

The Cure is just instantly infectious. Part of my cringed a tad at first just because it seemed like Gaga was releasing an easy slightly generic pop song, which is something I have never been able to say about her. But I remind myself its just music and damn this song is fun  :excited2:

I prefer probably about half of Joanne to The Cure. That being said though, I definitely had to get used to that album because that kind of music is not why I listen to Gaga. I've come to appreciate and even enjoy it though to the point that I emotionally connect to it far more than I did when the album first came out.

Despite all this, I am beyond excited about Gaga stepping back into pop music and I think it's where she belongs tbh.

I'm the same, although i'm more of a "casual" gaga fan. I do like her acoustic songs like "Speechless" (probably my favorite ballad of hers) but just never got into Joanne. My best friend loves it and he drags me for it. :toofunny: I liked MR, PI, and strangely Sinner's Prayer. But i never feel compelled to play the rest.

Same dude same 😩

It makes me sad to see so many people trashing Joanne especially since so many were praising it before. :toofunny:

The ARTPOP karma.   :classy:

But nobody can drag Gagas albums, they all masterpieces, even C2C.   :firega:

Relax... Joanne is a great album overall... It's a truly different musical and, lyrical perspective on Stephani's life up to when she put it together... She needed to do it; exclusive of what fans or, critics said or, thought about it... She knew full well, those that assumed it was going to be more of the early cultish electronic/house/rock material would be very critical, yet she did it anyway... And, guess what...??? The album is a success... Maybe not at the super-commercial level as she had a few years ago but, it still did well and, literally millions of people now, love it more and, more; self, included... Ignore the critics; remember, they have nothing for sale beyond an opinion... All any performing artist can hope for this in the music and, entertainment business is; more people like it, than don't like it... That's success any way you want to size it up... I sincerely hope Gaga's music continues to progress and, every little musical whim she comes up with, we all get to hear and, see it... She's a proven commodity in the entertainment world... She's rich so, money is not an issue... Let the opinion brokers peddle their junk and, live on sales pitches... Gaga will still be selling muchly welcomed records, entertaining as only she can and, all the while; changing the world; her way...

Joanne, Born This Way and The Fame Monster are the holy trinity of Gaga's discography, and monsters will deal.
