However, I like that Gaga made this song and debuted it at Coachella because she's made it specifically to please that crowd of people. And she hit it out of the park. This song is going to be a hit and it's one she needed to appease the gp. But that being said, I don't want her to deviate from being a true artist. She surprised us all by not conforming with Joanne. I don't want her to suddenly change her tune and be labelled a "sell-out". But, on the other hand as an artist she should be sampling modern music styles because that's what you do with art, you try out new things. And it turns out she's given a good song that could change pop music for the better. It's better than anything else in the charts in my opinion. No, pretty much everyone on this site used to hate "tropical" songs, until Gaga came up with one. It's every bit as good as everything else she has done in her career. It's gold. Is it hard for you to believe that this is actually a song she genuinely likes and that she believes in with as much enthusiasm as she has ever had for any of her more eccentric projects? You really think she did this just to chart? Im still surprised about her decision to do this but ultimately she's a pop star. She has to stay relevant - it's clear she doesn't want to be an indie star (jokes aside). I think Gaga can continue experimenting and be commercial all as one. Joanne was a big change in sound and now she's back to something very pop again. I think of an artist like Madonna who has had a career with jumps between big pop smashes and and more experimental dips. I get why fans don't like it and it may seem like a "sell out", but I really don't think it is. In fact, Million Reasons was a pretty safe single too imo.
