Manafort had/has an international consulting firm and these funds were deposited in said company, not Manafort's pocket per se, because they were one of his clients. I just don't see the scandal here. I see scandal in just about every other fishy part of this administration, but not this. Maybe someone could explain but this all took place years ago. I think this is just a confirmation about the payments. He was ousted from Trump's campaign in August due to his involment with Ukraine's government, I believe. The unfortunate luck that the Trump campaign made him chairman though. I don't think this is a scandal but it's a confirmation of information obtained last year. I hope dems/the media don't try to "make" this a scandal because there is actual scandal unraveling in other parts of the admin. and I fear if they try to make this specific part a big deal when it's not it will discredit the actual corruption/collusion claims.
