He struck the airbase where the chemical weapons originated.Β My take on this is that Assad launched the chemical attack on his people to see how far Trump would go. He did many attacks while Obama was president and Obama barely did anything. Now he sees Trump is willing to attack. He will most likely stop in fear Trump will send in the military to dethrone him if he continues with further actions. Clearly it didn't go through Congress like it normally does and it just happened at least from the civilian standpoint.
