The Democratic Party doesn't understand that the majority of voters are independents. They're non-partisan and it's for a really damn good reason. They don't trust party politics and believe both parties are corrupt. They don't give a **** about the party rivalry or ~*party unity*~~~~. They vote for the candidate that proposes CHANGE to the establishment. Unfortunately, candidates like Obama and Trump propose change, but then continue the status quo. A candidate like Hillary proposes the status quo, thinking that people are cool with the "we're democrats, we're the good guys" shtick that they've been running with. Cool, you passed gay marriage. Not because you wanted to, but because the majority of states had passed it, but cool thanks you're the good guys. Hillary had three million more votes. She won. In fact, she had won by Super Tuesday. The bottom line is Bernie failed to engage the minority vote.

The Democratic Party understands that 45 per cent of the voters identify as Democrats or as Independents, that vote for Democrats. True Independents  are at 12 per cent, meaning voters that don't consistently lean one way or the other. 

By the way Obama was a true Democrat in every way. In fact, he was a moderate.

LAME argument. Bernie is the most popular politician in the country now that he has name recognition. People simply didn't know him and the DNC/media made sure it stayed that way during the primaries. I wouldn't have known who he was if it weren't for my brother and the internet.

That's correct. They didn't know him. They didn't know Obama either, yet he was able to win the nomination. Bernie couldn't do the same because he didn't appeal enough to a major portion of the Democratic Party- minority voters. 

If you didn't know who Bernie was during the primary, then you weren't watching any news or following any on social media or news sites. Studies show that Hillary and Bernie had equal amounts of coverage in MSM. The person who beat them by a mile was Trump.

She convinced Independents that leaned Democratic, which is a larger percentage of Independents than true Independents. People believed her enough to give her the popular vote.
